Noblesse Chapters 233-238

No major spoilers, mainly my own scenario.

K19 is sitting quietly on a medical table in a laboratory alone waiting for the people who took her with them to come and get her. The blond man had asked her to wait here while he and his colleges talked about some important matters. K19 can't tell how long it has been since then, but she knows it has been quite a long time because her wounds have started to slowly heal themselves. Slowly, K19 brings her hand up to her neck touching the collar. The short black-haired man had said that he could take it off. K19 wonders what it would feel like to not have the collar around her neck anymore.

As she ponders what the wind would feel like on her skin, the doors to the lab slide open. K19 goes ridged on instinct and stands up from the table as she looks toward to door. Tao is leading the pack and is walking towards her holding some kind of tool kit. M21 and Takeo are on his left, Regis and Seira on his right, and Frankenstein bringing up the rear. M21 and Takeo take notice of her body language.

"Hello again! Sorry, we took so long we had some important stuff to talk about." Tao states happily. He walks over and sets his tool kit next to K19 and starts to take some out. Suddenly he stops, gasps, and looks at K19, she flinches back a bit not expecting him to look so suddenly at her. "How rude of us! We haven't introduced ourselves! I am Tao! The greatest hacker this world has ever seen!" He laughs and everyone collectively sighs at his seemingly never-ending antics. Once he is finished laughing, he starts to point at everyone one-by-one and introduces them. When he says, "And this is M21.", K19's eyes go wide.

"M21, Takeo, and I all used to belong to the union. We were all experiments." He pauses before turning to K19 and asking, "What's your name?"

"K-K19." She responds in a quiet voice.

"Didn't you have a name before the Union?" Takeo speaks up.

K19 shakes her head, "My par-ents n-ne-ver named m-ee."

"What?" M21 asks under his breath.

Just as Tao is about to ask another question, Frankenstein interrupts, "We can discuss this later. I'm sure K19 would like to have that collar removed as soon as possible."

"Yeah," Tao says. He turns back to his tool kit and starts to take out the tools he will need. Once he is ready, he turns to K19 with the tools. Some of them are spiky and she is hesitant to let a stranger come close to her neck with those, even if they say that they won't hurt her. She has been betrayed like that ten times over.

A hand is placed gently on her head. K19's eyes leave Tao and his pointy tools to look at the person in front of her. It's M21. He softly pets her head to reassure her that they mean no harm. He had seen the way her eyes filled with fear when Tao had turned to her.

K19 stretches out her neck to Tao and he immediately gets to work. Being extremely careful to not accidentally shock the young girl next to him. K19's chin is trembling, and her hands are down by her side holding too tightly to the fabric of her shirt that her knuckles are turning white. M21 has moved to stand next to her not wanting to get in Tao's way.

After a few minutes, there is the sound of a click. Tao sighs in relief and puts down his tools before slowly removing the collar. Her neck was quite a gruesome sight. The collar had several metal prongs sticking in towards her neck that would deliver the electric shocks. The areas where the metal props touched her skin are bleeding and all of the skin that was under the collar is red from irritation. Tao and M21 can even see some busing starting to form.
