Always assume there will be spoilers, there normally aren't but still, when they come they can range from small details to help you understand the time frame to very crucial plot points in their respective series.
Things that happen in the manga or an OVA will not be taken into account unless I've seen/am willing to read it, in which case you'll have to tell me you want that context to be added;
