3rd person POV

It was a bright summer day as (y/n) walked through her new high school's hallways with her head down in an attempt to not draw much attention to herself, suddenly she felt a tap on her shoulder "Hey, are you new here? I don't think I've ever seen you before" a feminine voice behind her pipped up, when she turned around she found a girl with orange spiky hair and turquoise eyes framed by red half-moon glasses.

"Um...Yeah.... I'm new..." (y/n) muttered, fiddling with her fingers "I'm Mikan Akemi, persident of the newspaper club and your name is?" Mikan asked "I'm (y/n) (l/n)..." (y/n) replied shyly, before she could even process what was happening Mikan had already snapped a picture of her, looking at it for a second before dropping her camera onto her chest, supported by it's strap around her neck "Hm~ this one will make a good article!" Mikan hummed proudly.

"H-hey! please delete that!" (y/n) exclaimed, desperation and panic clear in her voice "Huh? Why?" Mikan asked, growing more curious by the second 'why doesn't she want me to post it? Does she have a secret she doesn't want anyone to know about? Is her coming here supposed to be a surprise for someone? Ah the possibilities! I need to know why now!'

"Mikan-san! please" (y/n) pleaded, her voice shaky and tears welling up in her eyes, her trembling hands tightly gripping her skirt, now back from her thoughts, the orange haired girl felt a little bad seeing her like that but she was way too stubborn to let go now, the distress in the other girl's eyes only encouraging her.

"Oh sorry, I'll delete it...not!" Mikan mocked, running away to the newspaper club, knowing the (e/c) eyed girl probably wouldn't follow that far, when she got there, no (l/n) in sight, she went in and downloaded the pictures she'd taken that morning and made the first drafts for the next newspaper's articles, giving herself a few pointers and a general idea of how she wanted it to end up.

The bell rung soon after so she saved all her progress and turned off her computer, leaving the dark room and making sure the (h/c) haired girl hadn't found her before going to her classroom, the teacher coming in only moments later.

Timeskip

It was now after first and second period and Akemi was gathering her things and getting ready to go back to her club room when she overheard two girls in her class talking to each other and Mikan, being the ever curious girl she is, listened in "Did you hear about the new girl?" a girl nearby asked another "Huh? no, what about her?" the other girl asked "apparently she'd been crying in the girls bathroom up until the start of first period, one of the teachers said she was having a panic attack and let her go home for the day" the first girl replied, Mikan perked up at that 'Huh? Why? All I did was take her picture and say I'd make an article' the turquoise eyed girl thought, for her, this was all just harmless fun, she always made sure to state that the things she wrote in her articles were fictitious so why would (l/n) cry about it much less have a panic attack over it?

The girls had changed their conversation topic so the orange haired girl had nothing else to do here therefore she left her classroom and headed to the newspaper club, guilt was gnawing away at her as she typed out the article, sighing she pushed her wheely chair away from her desk and went to get some iced tea, thinking the walk to a nearby vending machine would clear her head.

As Akemi sat on a bench near the vending machine, iced tea in hand, she thought about that days events, she didn't mean to hurt (y/n), sure she did leave her crying but she thought the (h/c)-ette would stop soon and that they were just tears of shock or something, she certainly didn't expect the other girl to have a panic attack over a photo.

"Maybe you should apologize" Mikan's glasses suddenly spoke, well the 'fortune' god inhabiting them, Fuku-chan "What have I told you about talking to me in school?!" Mikan replied, pulling her glasses off and trying to bend them inwards "ita ta ta ta!" the sentient glasses fussed, regardless, she didn't want this guilt to weigh her down anymore so she decided that she'd follow Fuku-chan's advice and apologize the next day.

Timeskip

The next day after school Mikan approached the (e/c) eyed girl, she had bought (f/s) yesterday, she thought that if she brought something as an apology it would be easier to get the other girl to forgive her, Akemi knew she wasn't one for apologies so maybe the sweet treat would distract (y/n) form her probably lacklustre one.

"(L/n)-san!" (Y/n) turned to the familiar voice, hesitant, the voice she heard was that of a girl who had made her have a panic attack just two days ago, she still didn't want that picture getting posted but she'd already accepted that she would probably have to move schools again, the whispers in the halls would probably end soon enough but what if they didn't? If it got posted, which she assumed it already had been, that article might as well have been fuel for the fire.

"I heard you liked (f/s) so I got you some... I'm really sorry, I was just having, supposedly, harmless fun, I didn't mean to hurt you...I won't post that article, I promise!" the orange haired girl said reluctantly, bowing and handing the other girl the treat, she was never one to apologize for the harm her pictures and articles may have caused so this whole situation was foreign to her, she knew one thing for sure, this was only a one off situation.

"I...it's fine I guess...thanks" (y/n) replied, taking the (f/s) "But please don't take pictures of me, I just... I don't like them... so please respect that" the (h/c)-ette continued "Of course, I'm sorry" the turquoise eyed girl apologized again "... c'mon, raise your head" (y/n) sighed, patting the other girl's shoulder, she knew that her dislike for photos probably seemed silly which is why she was quick to accept Akemi's apology, she was still hurt but as long as that picture was deleted she was ok with it, for now she wanted to see where this could go, would they be able to become friends or would they drift apart again?

I wasn't the biggest fan of Mikan which is probably why she seems like such a jerk at the start (she was in the anime too though so...) but I think I was able to somewhat redeem her, I'm sorry if she was a bit OCC and that this was short, I'm not so familiar with Mikan so writing about her is a bit harder since I couldn't learn much about her, she's a supporting character so we don't spend much time with her.

I've also started thinking of adding actual titles, you can find them at the very top of each story now!

Thank you all so so much for 5.48K reads! I'm so happy you all like these!
