A/N: There is literally no reason for you to read this chapter since it's basically just a crossover of Izzy and Nick but, oh well. At least there are some bonus scenes.
...
No way is that goofball better than me. While I have talent and have succeeded the audition process, I find it funny how he can't say the same thing. I feel sorry for Izzy- she doesn't deserve someone like him for a brother, and he doesn't deserve her.
...
"Heathcliff, you have dance rehearsal today. It's your first day on the team without being an alternate. Aren't you excited?" my dad whispered.
"Yeah Dad, I'm excited but also tired." I wasn't really tired- I was just avoiding Oswald ruining my life.
There is a pause, before my dad blasts Stand Up at the loudest volume possible. At this point, I know my fate is decided.
"Fine, Dad. I'll wake up now," I moaned, heaving myself out of bed, and then clumsily rearranging it.
"I'll be downstairs and ready to go!" I honestly don't know where he gets his energy from.
"Mk," is all that I could reply. I had next to no energy or motivation to get me through the day.
...
I got to the studio pretty early since my dad is the studio owner, so I went to The Next Steep to order a chai tea, only to see a sad-looking Amy.
"Hey Amy, what's up?"
"You shouldn't drink chai tea, it's like holding your grandpa's hand on his death bed- it'll break your heart." So random but whatever.
"Um... okay, but you have a chai tea as well."
"Heath, you're still new to A-troupe. I suggest not being rude to the senior members if that's alright with you." She smiled sarcastically. I didn't want to make a bad impression, I had to do something.
"Amy, if this is about Finn, than just remember what Marilyn Monroe once said:
'As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them – actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soulmate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling.' " I declared, putting on the strangest accent.
"Thanks Heath," she said, actually smiling this time, "maybe you're not so useless after all." I was insulted that she thought that I was useless, but it felt good to have succeeded at something.
"And I think I know who your soulmate might be."
"Really, who?"
"Henry, duh," I say, whispering.
"Pffft, no way."
"Amy, I see the way you guys look at each other, it's kinda magical."
"aRe YoU suGGesTing ThaT I lOOk aT hEnRy In tHe SaME waY ThAt YoU LooK aT iZZy?" I was sh00k. How did she have the nerve to go there? And I did not look at Izzy that way?
"I gotta go, I have a... family arrangement," I said, before I ran into Studio One. I turned up the volume to the max and began to dance to Watching the World.
Just when I started to get into the song, an alarm went off, notifying me that rehearsal started in five minutes. I was pulling out all of the stops.
...
When I arrived at Studio A, it felt unusually tense- but then again, had I been at the studio long enough to know what usual even felt like? Emily seemed off, but maybe she was just having a bad day. Rehearsals were fine, nothing special.
After rehearsals, I went to Studio One again because I left my water bottle there. I saw Izzy talking to Jude before she yelled, "Fine! I have dyslexia! Ok! Is that what you wanted to hear?!" I was not expecting that.
"This is not your fault, you know!" I put my hand on her shoulder. Everyone else seemed to have gone after Jude.
"Heathcliff, I appreciate it but of course it's my fault. I pressurized her into telling me and now she revealed her secret to everyone. If you mind my asking, what are you doing here?" It was strange how she switched topics so quickly.
"I just came to grab an old water bottle," I said, picking up the bottle, "Don't bring yourself down. You're an amazing person."
Slowly, she made her hand over to mine and squeezed it. Our eyes made contact before she rested her head on my shoulder. I don't know why but I wrapped my arm around her. Everything felt okay.
Timeskip to after the Presley fiasco*
I got home and re-thought everything. Am Izzy and I a thing? If we were, how would Oswald react? How would my overprotective big sister react? Why would Presley switch studios? I resolved to looking on social media.
@ thefunnyguy
This was my reaction when I found out @ heath.mussleman and
@ theizzy have been doing that thing when two people's lips kinda touch...
Typical Oswald. I found really funny when I saw this pic. All of my happiness was ended when I saw this...
@ thefruitymoonskid
Me and the bros had the best slumber party ever! Even though there was tea spilled, and some surprise guests, I wouldn't change a thing for the world!!!
My heart sunk. There was a bro slumber party without me? I felt, once again, like I didn't belong on the team. Maybe I should have auditioned for Dancemania as a soloist?
Author's note part 2= * If you haven't seen Izzy's or Presley's chapters, then you probably should.
