Stifling a yawn Cherish rolled over in bed. With a smile splattered on her face she snuggled closer to L'Duka. She rested her head on his chest and listened to the rhythm his heartbeat created. She could get used to mornings like this again. She really hadn't felt this happy since he'd left. It was as if he had restored her happiness.L'Duka kissed the top of her head. "Morning, darling," he drooled out. He pulled her closer to his chest and lazily drew a finger down her arm. "I know that I hurt you my sweet babygirl. And for that I am truly sorry. I deserve all the bad names in the dictionary. I deserve our daughter hating me-". Cherish cleared her throat. "Daughters," she spoke up.
L'Duka rose an eyebrow. "Daughters?" he said confused. Cherish drew circles on his toned chest. "Yeah, um, right after you left I was pregnant. I named her Belle." "Oh,wow,"he breathed out, truly surprised. "Amoura and Belle,"he repeated. Cherish smiled.
L'Duka intertwined her hand in his. "Let's go make breakfast for our daughters,"he suggested. And like the fool that she was Cherish readily agreed liking the sound of that. Once in the kitchen, Cherish told him the girls' favorite. Amoura liked eating toast and eggs and fruits for breakfast, while Belle liked oatmeal sprinkled with strawberries and blueberries.
It was 8 a.m. when the girls finally came running down the stairs. Cherishwas almost finished laying the table. She quickly poured orange juice into two glasses and rearranged the girls' breakfast dishes. She picked up her mug of freshly brewed coffeee and started sipping on it. She joined L'Duka in the corner of the kitchen where he was sitting thumbing through his phone.
"Morning, mommy," Amoura piped up. "Morning!"Belle echoed. Amoura froze when she saw L'Duka seated in the kitchen sipping on his coffee and scrolling through his phone. She looked to her mother for answers. "Mommy? What is he doing here?"
Cherish set down her mug and walked cautiously towards her daughter. "Daddy wants to apologize for leaving sweetheart." Tears began to roll down Amoura's cheeks. She shook her head furiously. "I hate him, mom. I hate him!" she screamed a little louder running back up the stairs.
Cherish started up the stairs when L'Duka stopped her. "Let me. It is my mistake afterall." Shoulders slumped Cherishwatched as he chased after Amoura.
Plastering on her brightest smile she turned to Belle. "Oatmeal?" Belle looked as if she was ready to cry as well. She sniffled then the waterworks were let loose.
Yikes.
The morning just started and it was already off to a bad start.
***************
When Cherish was little, this was all she would ever dream about. To her this was what would really make her life feel completed. And looking at it now, in an odd way, it did. She felt as how Nicki Minaj must have felt winning the Best Hip-Hop Video for Andacoda back in 2015.
The moment felt surreal, she was so happy that she could cry bucketful tears of joy. After L'Duka left she had lost all hope that her wish would have even been fulfilled. She had always wanted to experience this moment with him. And she was beyond grateful that she was now sharing it with the man of her dreams. He was her forever. It was as if a page from out of her dreams had literally walked into her reality. She was very much pleased with what she was looking at.
She leaned on the door frame and smiled to herself as both of the girls looked up at L'Duka as if in a trance, eating up all his words. They were both sprawled against his lap, their feet in the couch. L'Duka was spinning a fantastic story about dragons and princesses and how the princesses were badasses so they didn't need any king or prince to save them from the bad dragons.
