Kara's POV

Blindness. I open my eyes to blurred figures looking down upon me. "I can't see." I freak out reaching out for things. "I can't see." I feel tears slip down my cheeks as I just repeat the sentence over and over again. "Kara, you need to calm down for now, okay? Just calm down baby." I hear my mom's wobbly voice says in a nurture tone. "Mom, I can't see." I cry out letting my body shake from my cries.

"I know, baby, I know." She says grabbing me in from a hug. Mom successfully wraps her arms around me pulling me towards her chest. I hear her heartbeat as she softly strokes my hair. "What's wrong with me?" I whisper out wanting to know answers.

"You are just very special, that's all." Mom reassures me. I don't know what that means for now but I am willing to take it in strides. "How long will I be like this?"

"In a couple days you will get your sight back. It's just your body finally has gone complete X-ian. Meaning you will be like me and your father." Mom informs me.

"Why does that mean?"

"Your feature will become better defined, you won't have an imperfection on you. You will gain intelligence, and be able to control your lightning. Your eyes will change to were you can see up to 200 yards away with just a mere focus. You will become perfect in everyday possible."

"Can I go to my room now?" I ask pulling away from her hug. "Of course, I will get one of the hairdos to carry you there." I hear mom's footsteps leave the room and more sets come in. I lift my arms up as I am gently placed into a pair of arms.

"Thank you," I tell the guards before letting myself get engulfed in my soft satin bed set. "I am so glad you are okay." I hear lily's voice come from my vanity set. "I can't see you," I mutter out.

"That's okay," Lily reassures me. I feel the bed shift as she sits next to me. "The Kingsley family is here. They would like to see you visit with you." Lily informs me. "Bring them in," I tell her.

I am not up for guest but at least Mister Kingsley will give the news while Missus Kingsley will give me a good laugh. "Your majesty, how are you?" Mister Kingsley asks from my bedside.

"I'm perfectly fine, it's just I can't see."

"That is horrible. Do you know when your sight will come back?" Missus Kingsley's worry filled voice filled my room. Her loudness almost seems as if she thinks I am deaf. "In a couple days my sight will be back and I'll be better than new."

"That is excellent to hear." Mister Kingsley eagerly says. "I can set up an interview of public state on Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to address why you left your own party early."

"Was it all over the papers?"

"Of course not, your majesty. I paid close attention to reporters but there was a few who speculated that you left early even though they couldn't exactly say you did or didn't."

"Then I'll do the public statement. I would rather my people know the facts instead of speculations." I tell Mister Kingsley. "Okay, excellent, your majesty. I will have work cut out for me, so you get well and better."

"Yes, your majesty. Please get better," Missus Kingsley says giving my hand a little pat. "I'll have Christopher stay for the day if you would like."

"That would be perfect because Mother, Queen Alexandra and me have a charity event and The king has meeting up north. Kara would be home alone." Lily interrupts our conversation to show what a great point that would be. "Great, Christopher is waiting out in the hall. I will send him up here," I hear everyone leave my room.

"Ugh!" I huff out in exhaustion. I pull at my clothes, trying to figure out what I had on. "Shorts and a t-shirt." I mutter out feeling their lengths. Slowly I raise from my bed to move to my living room. "Almost there."

"Kara!" I hear some yell as I hit the ground face first. Thanks for a creaking trip stupid wire. "I'm okay," I reassure the person holding my hand out for them to help me. "Thanks."

"Where are you going?"

"To the couch, to watch TV." I explain to him. "Let me help you," Christopher's arms wrap around me as a guide to the couch. "Here you are," he lightly pushes me down onto the couch.

"Thank you again Christopher."
