Chapter 9

Kara's POV

"Your dance lesson is being held in the ballroom today, with your mother, Mrs. Kingsley and Christopher in accompany. They are there waiting for you." Hilda says gesturing for me to follow her to the room. I fix my Nike yoga shorts and hoodie before walking into the room. My mother and Mrs. Kingsley are in the back of the ballroom looking around at the planning books and decorations. Christopher and our dance teacher, Mister Tyler, are sitting in the middle of the ballroom in the same circle I first sat in with the lightning. "Princess Karolina is ready for her lesson."

"Princess!" Tyler shouts getting up from sitting. "Tyler!" I holler back pulling him into a hug. "How is he looking?"

"He is one of my best dancers, so you wont be disappointed." Tyler whispers back into my ear. "Okay, you two get comfortable." Tyler orders. I strip off my hoodie and am left in my thin loose tank top and sports bra. Christopher takes off his shirt leaving me to stare at his perfect chest and olive skin. "Not too comfortable.' Tyler says waving his hand in front of my face. I step out of my trace and head over to where Hilda is holding my gym bag. "You can leave if you want Hilda or you can stay and watch." I politely say.

"Thank you, princess. but I have work that needs to be done." Hilda politely rejects. I nod and take my gym bag and set it down on the floor. I open it to find my ball heels on top. I put them on and safely wake back over to the boys."Walking lessons?" Tyler ask noticing my heel stability. "You wish."

---

"Come on, Tyler. We have been at it for an hour." I whine kicking off my heels.

"Be careful with those heels. You don't know how much those costed me to have them made." My mother chirps in.

"One more time, Kara." Christopher say sticking out his hand for me to take. I gladly take it, refusing to put back on my heels. We start the routine again. "One two three four five six seven eight!" Tyler yells helping us remember the steps.

Surprisingly we actually nailed the first eight steps, starting across from each other our hands in position. Back and forth, side to side. Dance is all confusing to me. Its a good thing Christopher is good at guiding me across the dance floor. "I am sorry to butt in, but you two need to get to your next class." Lily says rushing into the room. "Like now."

I quickly grab my heels and Christopher's hand and run to the front staircase of the palace. The staircase only used for formal events like balls and dignitary dinners. "We are sorry were late." I tell my father and his team. He coughs looking down at mine and Christopher's interlaced hands. We pull apart. "Christopher, at the bottom of the stairs." My father orders walking down there will him. I stay on the little balcony looking down at the two.

"Okay, your highness. Hand lightly hold on the staircase. Take one step and wait a second before taking the next step." My designer, Miss Lauren, instructs. I do as I am told, but father says I am going too fast. So I do the whole process again, except this time I wait two seconds. "Perfect." My father says.

"You have a dress fitting, your highness. I will need Christopher there too, for his measurements and fittings." Miss Lauren says running down the stairs. We head of to her work space in the newly renovated basement, which bigger and better than her spot upstairs. "Please wait here. I will done with the Princess' gown in a minute." Miss Lauren instructs Christopher to wait at the couches outside my dress room. i guess Christopher is going to see my ball gown.

"Okay, I'll need you to do what you did last time." Miss Lauren says holding open the curtain for me to exit. I walk up to see Christopher staring at me wide eyed. "What do you think, Mister Christopher?" Miss Lauren asks as I step onto the pedestal ready for alterations.

"S-s-stunning." Christopher stutters out. Miss Lauren quickly checks over the gown before deeming it fit for the ball tomorrow. "Now, Christopher your measurements." Miss Lauren escorts Christopher to the other side of the room for his measurements. One of Miss Luren's assistants along with Hilda my head maid helped me out of my gown.

---

:Thank you for the visit, Mrs. Kingsley." I say giving her a hug, "It was a pleasure, your highness." Mrs. Kingsley replies walking out the palace door to her car.

"It was a pleasure, your highness." Christopher says bowing before giving my hand a light kiss. I watch the Kingsley's car drive past our gates before disappearing into my bedroom as I am still grounded.

"Oh, Lily. We need to talk," I tell my best friend as I brushed past her.
