Chapter Sixteen

Harry had sold the precious stone,and he had received a good amount of money from Carlos.Good enough to ensure that they won't need to steal anymore.Adrianne was already packing.She was going to buy a house in Spain,and start a business there.That was what she was planning on doing.

Hugo wanted to buy a nice farm in Texas,and take care of domesticated animals.He said it was his dream,and also his nature.He would also sell dairy products and meat too.

Leo and Rob would stick together.They were planning on going to live in France,and buy a local club.They said that it would generate a lot of money,and that they would be accomplishing their goals.

Harry was going to go back to England,and live a normal life.I think it's a good idea,but somehow I feel like he shouldn't go.I don't want him to go,and I can't understand why.I've never been a selfish person,maybe I was but I changed.This man brings out the worst in me.

I on the other hand,was lost.I have nowhere to go.Absolutely nowhere.I have been accustomed to these people,they are like my family.Seeing them go,is like seeing my family go.It's definitely going to hurt,no doubt of it.I've had bad moments,but good ones too.They showed me that life is too sweet,and that we should never let a moment escape.We should cherish the people we love,and let go of the people that we hate with all our hearts.

“Adrianne?"I called as I went into our room.She turned to face me,a huge smile on her face,“Yes,baby girl?"

“I was just...looking for you."

“Want to tell me something?"

“Yeah...I'm gonna miss you."

Her eyes filled with tears and so did mine.She pulled me in for a long hug.She has been so good to me,and I can never thank her for that.She's been one of my closest friends,and I'm glad they kidnapped me.If it weren't for them,I'd probably be scrubbing someone else's floors. 

“I'll miss you too."she said.

Hugo walked into the room and joined us.We hugged each other and laughed at silly memories.I am really going to miss them.

“This has been an amazing year,guys."Rob began,“We made a great deal,learned the value of friendship and also,we added a member to our squad."I smiled sweetly at him.He didn't leave me out,at all.

“This isn't a permanent goodbye.This is all just temporary.One day,we'll meet again.Adrianne will probably have a family and kids.Hugo will be covered in cow poop.Harry will be all civilized and Leo and I will probably be rich."Rov continued,“You Elena?You'll be a good person.I'm sure of that."

“Thank you."

“So,cheers.This is to a new year,and a new life."

Something didn't feel right.We were all reunited,but something else didn't feel right.It all seemed to be happening slow motion.As soon as we swallowed down our champagne,the room filled with glass.The room was filled with coughs and glasses crashing into the floor.I couldn't see anyone,and my eyes were beginning to water.

Then,I heard Harry's voice,“Everybody run!"

I scrambled off the floor and took off.I didn't know where I was going,I just wanted to get away from that gas.Survival instincts.

I didn't see anyone,I couldn't see anyone.It was all a blur.All I saw was the door,and I turned the knob and stormed outside.When I inhaled fresh air,I felt better.I really thought I was going to die.

But the others hadn't come out yet.I couldn't go back in,so I had to wait.They're criminals,they can get themselves out.Minutes passed by and they still weren't back.I was sitting on the grass in front of the house when a black Jeep stopped in front of the house.I hid immediately.A bunch of policemen scrambled out of the car.They held guns and everything.

I could hear my heart pounding against my chest.My palms began sweating and my breathing accelerated.They're going to get caught.I prayed silently,asking God to save them.After a few minutes,they were out.

Hugo was handcuffed,and there were cops pointing guns at his head.The scene was all but realistic.It was something I never thought would happen in a million years.

Rob was next,the same that was done to Hugo was done to him.Only he didn't care about being shot.He was cursing in Spanish,and kicking the cops.They pushed him into the van,and then a number of cops came out.Harry was caught too.He wasn't reacting,he was quiet.I felt scared,I didn't know what to do.

But something amazed me.Only three of them left,which means Adrianne and Leo are still in there.But the cops didn't seem to notice that,so they sped off.After an hour of waiting,I went in through the backdoor.The house was still,no noise was heard.

The bags were still in the living room,but there were clothes everwhere.They must have been looking for something.I walked into the bedroom,it was empty.I was too afraid to call out,maybe there'd be a cop jumping out of the closet.

I then heard someone inhale deeply.My eyes lightened up.I opened the closet's door,but as soon as I did I was hit with something cold and heavy.I didn't even have time to register the moment,it all happened so fast.The person stared down at me but I couldn't tell who it was.It was a blur.

Harry wouldn't stop gripping the bars.He barred his teeth and and cursed at the guards.He was frustrated.There was no way the y could've gotten caught,someone snitched on them. He just couldn't imagine who.

“Harry..."Rob began,“you need to calm down.We need to stay in this together,you have to relax."

“How can I when someone betrayed us?!"Harry shouted.Hugo and Rob gave up.They had tried calming Harry down,but they were unsuccessful.There was nothing that could calm him down,nothing.He was caught doing what he does best.

“That doesn't seem right.Someone told us off,someone that knows of this entire operation.Someone new-"

“Elena."Harry breathed out.

“What?Are you crazy?She would never do that!"Hugo yelled.

“Who guarantees you?"Harry asked.Hugo shook his head and muttered 'unbelievable'.Rob turned his back to Harry,and stared down at the ground.“You're blind Harry."he said.

“What are you talking about?"Harry demanded.

“At first I thought you were ignoring it,but now I figured...you really had no clue!"Rob exclaimed,“Unbelievable."

“If you don't tell me what's going on I'm gonna-"

“Elena is in love with you.She always has since the first day she laid her eyes on you.And you were too blind to notice that."Rob said.

“Bullsh-"

“He's right,Harry."Hugo added in,“It's true."

Harry slid down the wall,and rested his head on his hands.He couldn't believe it,he was dumbfounded.Elena?He never thought of that before,the thought never crossed his mind.He tried processing the thought,it still didn't feel right.“This must be the joke of the year.All of this must be one big humorless joke."Harry said bitterly,“Courtesy to a fool.A game to a fool."he stammered.

“You're right Harry,"an all too familiar voice said,“it is a game to me."

Hugo,Rob and Harry stood.Harry gripped the iron bars and pressed his forehead against it.“You?You miserable scumbag.How dare you betray us?"Harry asked.

“No,Harry.You betrayed me,"Bruce said,“The idea of the diamond was mine.I wanted to steal it,I wanted it for me.But you had to steal it before me.Which I admit is clever,actually.You and Carlos will pay for your betrayal.Harry Styles I will make you regret that decision every day of your life,you will be living in a subterranean inferno and I will be your devil."
