Gloom padded slowly away from the city, her head held high and her red eyes fixed on the shadows of the forest just ahead. She was free now.
I can't believe you can act this way!
The words of her sobbing trainer came back to her.
How can you be so uninterested and calm about this? He's dead and you can't even show the slightest bit of grief!
How could she? That Charmander had obviously been going to die. She had also been pretty sure her trainer knew. There had been no need to act so surprised when it curled up and stopped breathing.
Yes it was sad, but it had been obviouse. Besides, she'd barley known him.
Get out! I don't ever want a pokemon who can be so heartless and mean!
Mean. Being accepting of one strangers death is not mean.
Well, she didn't need him. She had other friends to be with. Ones who like her, accepted death for what it was.
Afterall, Keepers had to be open to the world around them. And her world was a graveyard.
