Beep beep
I slowly fluttered my eyes to the early morning sunlight, sightly peaking into my darkroom through the dancing blinds. The birds were singing a calm melody, signaling that it is, once again, morning.
Beep beep
And of course, my blaring alarm clock right beside my ear reminding me I have school.
I reached over to my bedside table to turn off the annoying alarm that has awoken me from my sleep when another hand reaches for it.
"You sure took your time turning that shit off, didn't you?" Kazane questioned, in her raspy, deep morning voice.
"Yeah, sorry about that... I'm taking dibs on the shower first, though." I walked toward the window and ventilated the room, brushing my hand across the flapping blinds. The birds' song grew more powerful and the sun gleamed into the room.
"Do you really have to do that every morning? Not like we had sex or something."
"Yes... From um... Well... Teenager smells, I guess."
I wobbled to the bathroom to get myself ready because, after all, I had just woken up... and I stink.
Pshhh
I love hearing water. Especially early in the morning. It calms me down a lot. I sniffed in the vanilla+patchouli scented candle that I bought recently from Bath and Body Works. I saw it on their website when I was online shopping for some new clothes to replace my clothes that were no longer trendy that I had been wearing for two years, and today is the day I finally wear them.
Creak
"Okay... So, I may have gone a little overboard while online shopping because my new clothes took a whole load of the washing machine, but at least I have a lot of new clothes. I had way too many old ones anyway- and they were mostly stained from food and drinks." I mumbled to myself whilst indecisively trying to pick an outfit.
"Hey, really quickly, Kazane, before you shower, may you help me pick an outfit, please?" I begged her, knowing she isn't the type to help out for useless everyday tasks like this one.
She groaned and walked backward into the room, took a very quick glance of the outfits, and said, "Ugh. Just go with a turtle neck, flannel shirt, and some jeans. You're just going to school anyway." She then proceeded to roll her eyes and made her way to the bathroom.
"THANKS!! I KNEW I COULD COUNT ON MY FASHION-OBSESSED FRIEND!!" I laughed while yelling at Kazane.
~~~~~~~At school~~~~~~~
"Did you study for your exam?" Kazane asked me, appearing concerned, yet eager.
"....Which exam? The one for chemistry or...?"
"Pfft, you dummy, I'm talking about the name qui- te- exam thing. Your birthday is in a few months, isn't it?"
"Huh? What do you mean... Study? I thought it was going to be a physical exam...?"
"BwAHAHAHA!!!!!! Oh my GOD!! You stupid." She snorted, reaching for my hair and ruffled it. "That's what I meant by 'study'. You need to train yourself because it's going to be HELL. Plus, there was some paperwork we had to do at the office."
"Oh... Well, thanks for telling me sooner" I growled at her, bringing both of my lean, pale arms up to my chest and crossing them.
"Aww! Come on, don't be so grumpy THIS early in the morning. Just be thankful I told you when you still have three months left before you turn 16. And if I remember correctly, didn't everyone in your family pass the exam? Just ask them for tips or something and you'll be fine."
