                                                                                      Butterflies

I woke up in the morning hoping it was all just a bad dream. Unfortunately, it wasn't. There Jordan was, cooking me breakfast like I fucked her brains out. Eggs, grits with shredded cheese, potatoes, spinach, strawberries, waffles—and syrup, with classical music and a glass of milk. She turned around and we made eye contact. "I thought I was a morning person" I chuckled. She separated our plates and finished setting up the table with our utensils and food. I was confused after our heated discussion last night. "I know you're probably wondering why I didn't just leave, but I figured I'd repay you for being so kind to me instead of letting me drive home drunk." Suddenly, a feeling rushed through my body, mostly my chest. My heart felt as if it were fluttering, like moths to a light. I looked at the beautiful breakfast she prepared for us and something about the neatly positioned strawberries made me picture our life together. Breakfast in the morning and love by the sunset. I stood in front of my picture-perfect breakfast and looked back at her. If only I weren't afraid to love. We ate in romantic silence for about thirty minutes. Soon after, she waited patiently as I collected the plates, and took them from me. I tried my best to ignore her kind gestures in an attempt to stay out of love with her. "Thank you for breakfast." She said nothing. "I guess we should talk about what happened last night. Feels like there's a white elephant in the room." No shit, Sherlock, I thought. "Yeah, we should not do this whole complicated thing. It's really cramping my style." I said. We made eye contact for several moments. The intensity in the room increased with the amount of time we were locking eyes. I wanted to walk over to her, knock everything on the floor and get her to join me on the kitchen counter, but I'm not too crazy about dishwater. "I was thinking the same thing." She said. As I stepped off of my chair, she finished her thought. "We should just go with the flow and not force anything. Whatever happens, happens." I smiled at her, walked into my bedroom, and began stripping my clothes off. I entered the bathroom and turned on the shower. I chose the hottest temperature and watched as steam filled the air. From a distance, I could see my phone flashing. I walked over, picked it up, and read the caller ID. Of course, it was Lindy. I answered as nonchalantly as possible. "What's up?" "I guess you were asleep as usual." she replied. The sound of her voice turned me on..hard. "Yeah, you're right. Let me make that up to you tonight." I could tell that she was just as in the mood as I was. There was silence for a bit, and then she spoke. "I missed you a lot last night, and I want you so bad right now." Her words triggered something in me that I usually felt when I was with her. I wanted to get on the bed and hear more about her appetite for me, and how good I was gonna get it when she came over. Something must have taken over me because before I knew it, I was in the bed, legs spread open, and heart beating a million times a minute. "What..what do you wanna do to me when you see me?" Her words caressed my every body part effortlessly as I heard them over the phone. "You know that thing I do to you that drives you crazy every time? Yeah, you know what." I bit my lip and slowly inched my hand lower and lower. Suddenly, I heard a knock on my door. I dropped my phone. I heard Jordan's voice say "You okay in there?" I answered her. "Yeah, just taking a shower." There was silence for a moment as if she was debating whether or not she'd ask to join, and for once I was hoping she wouldn't. Finally, she responded. "Okay, I'm going to head home. I'll call you later?" Relieved, I answered quickly. "Yeah, call me." I picked up my cell phone as I heard footsteps walking farther away from my room. I switched the topic with Lindy. "I'm going to take a shower, I'll call you after." "Take pictures" she joked.
