—-6 months later—-
Haseya laid in her bed of her new home staring out the window at the sunset. June had gone out to get food for dinner and Malcom was somewhere around the house playing with his toys.He healed nicely. He was so much more active and playful. He had his old happiness but there was always that lingering sadness when he remembered that he lost his father.
A tear fell down Haseya's face as she laid on her side. She quickly wiped it sniffling. She shook her head at how pathetic she must seem she now was a proud owner a lot of money and it would take her time before she got all of Coleman's inheritance and property.
She missed him with everything in her she spent most of her pregnancy in tears. She yearned for him and his smile. His laughter, his pretty blue eyes, his charm. Everything.
She had so much regret. She should've been more loving to him. Appreciative of him while she had him. He was trying so hard for them and even though Haseya didn't know, it made her feel horrible. But she had to keep pushing in stead of kicking herself for what could've been.
She swung her legs out to climb out of bed and stretch. This baby was weighing her down. And the kicking was constant.
"Please honey not right now." Haseya whined rubbing her stomach. Firm knocks from down stairs came the front door gaining her interest.
She walked to the front calling for Malcom who came rushing to her side. "Who is it?" Malcom whispered. "I don't know." Haseya frowned before looking out the window and gasping.
She waddled quicker to the door and opened it. A tall white man with brown eyes and black hair stood there with paperwork. "You bought these slaves from the Buchanan family in Louisiana?" He gruffed at the negro woman.
Haseya cleared her throat before nodding. "Yes I did." He grumbled to him self getting Rebecca, her husband Jonah, and what she learned were her two brothers Darrius and Isaac.
"Sign." He ordered. Haseya took the paper from and read it for herself to see if there were any shady conditions. Coleman always told her to do that.
"If you're dedicated to being apart of this trip Haseya you gotta sign." Coleman spoke smugly. He didn't want the teenage girl accompanying him on this because he doubted her societal knowledge.
"Are you serious I'm not signing your stupid papers to accompany you to ROB people." She rolled her eyes.
"Kid I don't even want your company. You're crashing on my parade. If you were smart you would stay here but if you insist you're prepared and can prove it to me then sign here." He shrugged.
"Fine!" Haseya growled taking the ink pen and scribbling her signature on it. Not knowing she proved Coleman's point.
"Well kid you didn't prove me wrong. You're not ready to go out in public." He sighed. Haseya raged pushing him back.
"What do you mean! I signed look!" She pointed at her signature. "Haseya.... you didn't even read it." He choked on a laugh as his face held a sh*t eating grin.
Haseya looked over the words eyes bulging when she realized it was a marriage certificate. "Oh my God I don't want to marry you!" She snapped.
"The feeling is very mutual kid. Let this be a lesson. You're smart and sneaky but you're not ready for the big leagues." He snatched the paper out of her hand and ripped it to shreds.
