the weirdo on maple street (pt. 1)
Ashlyn sat next to the girl as thunder echoed throughout the house.
"Is there a number we can call for your parents?" Mike asked the girl, wanting to help the clearly freaked out child.
"Where's your hair? Do you have cancer?"
"Dustin, I swear to god, shut up." Ashlyn told the curly headed boy.
"Did you run away?"
"Are you in some kind of trouble?"
"Is that blood?" Lucas tried to reach out and touch the blood that stained the girls shirt, but Ashlyn smacked his hand away.
"Stop it! You're freaking her out!" Ashlyn hissed at the boy.
"She's freaking me out!" Lucas defended.
"I bet she's deaf." Dustin said before reaching over and clapping in her face, causing the girl to jump.
"Seriously Dustin?"
"Not deaf."
"That's enough! Mike do you have any clothes for her?" Mike nodded and walked over to his clothes basket, pulling out a sweater and sweatpants.
Mike returned and handed them to her. The girl stood up and began to get undressed but Ashlyn grabbed her hands to keep her from pulling the shirt up anymore.
"Oh, my god!" The boys kept repeating over and over.
"Sorry." She apologized and let go of her hand. She pointed over to the bathroom. "Change in there, privacy. Get it?" The girl nodded softly and picked up the clothes.
Ashlyn walked her over and led her inside, trying to close the door after.
The girl noticed that Ashlyn was trying to close it and stuck her hand out, grabbing the door to keep her from closing it anymore.
"You don't want it closed?"
"No."
"Oh, so you can talk." Ashlyn grinned at her before slowly closing the door, leaving a small crack.
"Is this okay?" The girl nodded and Ashlyn turned around while she changed, making sure the boys didn't say anything bad about her.
