“Malia, you're going to be late for work!”
The sound of my mum's voice startles me and I nearly drop my iPod. Yeah, I listen to my iPod in the bathroom. (It's really not that weird.)
“That was a close one.” I mutter to myself, walking out of the bathroom, with my towel wrapped around me.
Putting the iPod on my desk, I yell back, “I'm coming, mum!”
I'm already in my – ahem - undies, so all I need are my clothes. Unfortunately, I haven't got the time to sit and pick something out, so I run across my room to my closet and grab the first thing I can get my hands on.
I end up with my Acacia's “The Tyndall Effect” T-shirt and my faded jeans. She's going to kill me for taking her precious “Nolly” T-shirt, but hey, it's not my fault our clothes keep getting swapped! We are twins after all. I don't have time for my Converse so I settle for my black skull flip flops.
“Move it lazy bones!” says Acacia, poking her head into my room. Real funny coming from her, seeing as how she doesn't even have a job.
I nod in greeting as I zip my jeans up.
“Hey, is that my shirt?” she asks a moment later, pointing at it in surprise. I grab my keys, stuff my iPod into my bag and speed-walk past her out of my room.
“Yeah it is, sorry. I'll give it back later, OK? See ya! Bye, mum!” I yell over my shoulder as I run down the stairs to the door.
I hear Acacia snort in anger but she says goodbye anyway. Either she thinks I'm doing it to spite her, or -- heaven forbid -- she thinks I've become one of the T2E Family. *cue dramatic piano sounds*
My mum walks out of the kitchen and gives me a quick hug before I can escape.
“Bye honey. Be careful,” she says, trying to fix my hair. I nod, give her a quick kiss on the cheek and sprint out the door, trying to get my messy red hair into a pony tail. As soon as my hair's taken care of, I check my watch.
Shit, it's already 4:45, and I'm supposed to be there by 4:30. Shenae's going to kill me!
