............
There used to be a small lake called Toba in a faraway village of Seoul but only little people know about it; some people didn't even hear of the lake for it disappeared many years ago along with the village.
The lake disappeared for a reason and the reason was a bittersweet tale of a couple that met in the lake of Toba at a young age and grew affection as time they spent together in the lake. Neither of them care that they felt was love.
Love.... the most powerful indeed the most dangerous feeling.
Years passed away and they're still together as if they're inseparable until one night of 1987: there came a time when one of them must leave.
' Soo-young...I'll come back to you after I finish my military duty....wait for me...'
Tears were watering both of their cheeks and Soo-young couldn't believe to be parted with her childhood's love, her first love. ' I-I didn't know this wou-'
Speechless, he hugged her and let her cry in his shoulder. Then, he gently patted her back. 'Don't worry, I'll come back.'
And after he calmed her down, he slowly erased the tears from her damp cheeks and whispered.
' I won't find someone other than you, I'll wait until we meet again. I promise.'
Hearing this, Soo-young let go of his hug: relieved. She felt the chilly breeze of winter night as they stood together at the edge of Lake Toba, the place that has connected Soo-young and Sungjae
Yet, the place that will separate them
' I promise the same to you.' Then, she gave him a kiss as a sign of trust.
They spent their last moment at the lake, Soo-young leaned on his shoulder and fell asleep whilst Sungjae still stayed awake, gazing at the moon that makes the lake shining
The lake has a shape of a butterfly and it always shine like a white butterfly all night even without the light from the moon ......as if there's a goddess that own the lake
After he was charmed by the beauty of the sight, little by little he became sleepy; but before he took his last glance, he saw a white butterfly perched on Soo-young's hand that was holding his arm
Then, he heard a whisper............
Keep your word, keep your promise
............ before he fell asleep
