I'll try

I rolled out of bed and hit the alarm to stop it from beeping. There is nothing I hate more than that beeping of an alarm clock.

I walked to the bathroom and stripped from my owl pajamas and stepped into my shower, turned on the water and hurried with my morning routine. I stepped out of the shower and replied to my mother; who was telling me to hurry.

"I'm getting dressed!" I called to her. I walked to my closet and picked out a pair of tan flowered wedged heels, a flowy white top and dark skinny jeans. I quickly got dressed and hurried to the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. I pulled a brush through my hair and blew it dry and then applied some concealer and foundation and smudged on a bit of eyeliner and some mascara.

I ran downstairs and found my mom at the breakfast table drinking a cup of tea and checking her texts. My mom had me late in life, so she's in her late 50's. My parents divorced when I was 13, and my stay-at-home mother got a job working from home so she could stay at home with me and my sister.

There are 5 kids total. Tripp is the oldest, in his mid-thrities, Lauren is next, in her early-thirties. Then 14 years later, my sister Savanna was born and 21 months later, Piper, and then me; Caitlyn. I was always called Kate, so that was normal to me. I didn't actually find out my name was Caitlyn until I was three when Piper was yelling at me and spit it out. People couldn't believe I didn't know my real name, and when they ask if it was weird finding out, I always say, "I'm cool with it."

My parents were married for 37 years before they broke up. Piper and I always said it was because of Savanna. She ran away when she was 18 to get married to a guy that my parents didn't know, and anything they did know, they didn't like. He was lazy, didn't work, got kicked out of college, and got drunk and partied with his friends every night. We still have no idea what she see's in him. But my parents fought a lot after that, and 5 months after Savanna ran away, my mom filed for divorce. We were devastated, as was my dad.

My dad moved out and got an apartment and now has a fantastic job. My mom has a job that she loves doing, which means she can stay at home a lot more. When my parents got divorced, we were living with my brother, but we bought a house with the divorce settlement my mom got. It was only Piper, me, and my mom, but somehow she saw the need to buy a huge expensive house. 4 bedrooms, 4 and a half bathrooms, a huge finished basement with a theater, huge backyard nad kitchen and 3 different living rooms. All for 3 people.

Piper moved out a year later. She is now a photographer in New York City. She loves it. My brother and I can't stand each other. We rarely see each other, and both of us handle that pretty well. Savanna and I were like best friends, but we haven't spoken in 2 months. It's not that unusual.

Lauren and I talk pretty often. We get along really well. My mom gets upset because she doesn't think I open up enough. I always say that when I find someone who I can trust, I will talk about my feelings. I say that as I know I never will.

I'm only 17, and I'm in my junior year of college at the community college near my house where I take classes about Fashion and Design, Interior Design, Art History, Excerise and running plans, and American History. I will go to the University of Kansas this fall for my last year. My parents saw extreme intelligence in me, and enrolled me during my sophmore year of high school. I was only 14. But I have been homeschooled my whole life, so almost all of my college classes qualify for high school, so I don't have as much high school to do.

I work at Charlotte Russe, and I love it. I've gotten to work with a lot of great people and I love almost everything in the store, so it's a real challenge to not spend my paycheck before I get it.

I walked to the fridge and pulled out some greek yogurt. I hurried to finish it and grabbed a banana and a glass of orange juice and sat next to my mother. My mom started humming Justin Bieber's new song, and I quickly ran away screaming, "MOM!! STOP IT!!! IT HURTSSSSS!!!!!!!!!"

I hurried to brush my teeth and brushed through my naturally wavy hair. I quickly made my bed, grabbed my phone and handbag and ran downstairs. I got my mom's car keys and hurried to the car. I don't own a car. I don't see a need yet till I go to college in the fall. Until then, I have my mom's Acura SUV.

I hurried into work, and said hello to some people who were already shopping. My co-worker Willow came up to me, her face beaming.

"What?" I asked, smiling.

She held up her hand left hand and I noticed quite a large rock.

"OH MY GOSH!!!!" I squealed.

"I KNOW!!!!!!!"

We talked about how he proposed and wedding plans.

"The wedding's in London. England." She said.

I looked surprised.

"I want you to be there and the wedding is in 2 weeks."

"I would love to be there, Willow. But 2 weeks? That's not enough time!" I said, trying to change her mind.

"I know what I'm doing. I just want you to come." She said, clearly determined.

I let it go at that and they day flew by, being quite busy. I got home to find my mom standing in the kitchen on the phone.

"Are you sure? No, I would love to have you. You're always welcome, please know that. Okay, we will see you then." She hung up and looked at me. "Savanna's moving in with us. Bently's coming too."

I was very surprised. Savanna and I aren't the greatest of family members anymore. Bently, her son, and I get along very well. He's only a year and a half, but you can tell he's going to be a heart throb in 15 years.

"Okay..." I said, confused.

"Their getting a divorce and she needs a place to stay." My mom said, explaining. She went on to add details on what rooms they would have, what my attitide needed to be, and when they would be here. And they would be here soon. A week. So a wedding that I had to fly from Kansas to London, England and live with my sister who hates my in less than a week.

Not my plan, but I'll try.
