14 years later...
. . .
"Savi! Give it back!" A young boy's voice shouted. Footsteps were heard, coming down from the stairs. "Nope!" Yelled the called girl. They stopped in their tracks after seeing an older woman in front of them.
"Chou Savannah, what do you think you're doing?" Asked the older woman. "Mom, Tyler wouldn't let me wear his leather jacket." The younger girl explained.
"I mean I have no problem with that but this time I need it. The girls in school go craaazy when they see me wear that." Tyler butted in. "I've been waiting all week."
Just a few months after Tyler's 1st birthday, Sana gave birth to their second child, naming her Chou Savannah. They thought it was cute because it was similar to the name she was given in Idol Room when they danced to Camila Cabello's Havana. Tyler was now 15 years old while Savannah will be turning 14.
Their history in learning languages was pretty complicated. Before the kids were born, Sana and Tzuyu did their best to be fluent in each other's languages so that they can be able to communicate with their children with both Chinese and Japanese. Those were their first languages. They would also educate them with Korean. They were also able to learn English during their elementary days. That's how they communicate with their grandparents.
"Aren't you still too young to be thinking about girls, young man?" Sana asked her son. The younger boy scratched his head and shrugged. "Girls? I thought you were loyal to Mia?" Savannah asked her brother, who immediately covered her mouth.
"Shhhh. Mom doesn't know about that. Now, she might tell Aunt Chaeng and Auntie Mina." He whispered to his sister. The younger girl widened her eyes and their heads turned to their mother. Sana only laughed. "It's okay. Your mama and I know about it." The 2 kids stared at her questioningly.
"Mia told her parents. It's no big deal. Besides, it's cute." She smiled. Tyler was afraid that his mother would take it the wrong way so he quickly reasoned out. "But mom, we're not exactly--" He couldn't find the right words to say.
"Honey, it's okay. Your Mama Tzuyu and I started off like that." Tyler and Savannah only looked at her in disbelief. "Can we not talk about this?" Savannah laughed awkwardly. "Okay." Sana chuckled then she turned to Tyler.
"But remember young man, before you love someone else, you have to learn how to love your mothers and sister first." Sana told the boy. "And most importantly, yourself too." Savannah added. "That's right." Sana agreed.
"But I do love you, guys." Tyler said. "We know, honey. But I don't want you to rush things." Tyler nodded. Sana turned her head to her daughter. "You too, young lady." She said. "Yes mom." Savannah smiled.
"Oh and kids, you do know that your grandparents would visit us tonight, right?" Sana asked. The younger ones nodded. "I find it weird though. Aren't they supposed to come here next week for Savi's birthday?" Tyler tilted his head.
"Yes, they will, but your Mama and I have a surprise for you guys. That's why we wanted them to come over." Sana said. Tyler and Savannah's eyes widened as their jaws dropped. "A surprise?!" They asked at the same time. "Yes, but no questions. Save that for later." The young ones nodded.
"Good. Now, let's go. You kids might be late for school." Sana said before getting the car keys. The two younger ones furrowed their eyebrows. "I thought Mama will be driving us?" Savannah asked.
"She's tired. She... had a long night." Sana trailed off. The kids widened their eyes. "Wait, you mean--" Tyler was cut off when Sana shushed them.
"Shhh, forget it. Let's go now." Sana opened the car door of the driver's side. Savannah whispered to her brother. "Is she talking about the things we heard last night?" She asked. "I think so." Tyler whispered back before opening the car door for them.
