-Communications 1120-
Zadie's POV:
Delta visiting was one of the best things that could've happened this past weekend. Or maybe because that was one of the only parts I remembered. The rest of Halloweekend turned out to be a blur. I just remember the awkward morning after when Delta had to wake hungover me up from Chase's bed.
It wasn't my finest moment- that's for sure.
"Zadie," Jake excitedly tried to get my attention. I excitedly ignored him as I packed up my stuff from class. "Hey, Zadie, wait."
I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked out of the row and classroom. I knew he was trying to catch up, but I continued to ignore him.
When I finally got outside of the building, his voice got louder. Not in a threatening way, just in a 'stop pretending you don't hear me' kinda way.
"Zadie,"
I turned on my heel, "What, Jake? What?"
He didn't speak, even after all the pestering. "Are you gonna speak, or look at me like I just kicked your dog?"
"Don't bring Daisy into this."
I rolled my eyes and began to walk again.
"Wait," He gently grabbed my arm. "Just...look, I heard what happened. I have no idea who that dude was. But your friend Bree told us what happened, and we kicked him out."
I crossed my arms, not impressed at all.
"Was that supposed to be an apology? Cause if so... it sucked."
"Yeah, you're right." He shrugged, "I should've done more. I was your date, but I wasn't acting like it. Actually, you ex was acting like a better-"
"Don't remind me." I sighed.
"Anyway, I'm really sorry about what happened. Seriously, if I had been there, that shit wouldn't've happened. And I want you to know, that guy-... I don't hang out with that type."
I nodded, staying silent. It was a better apology than before.
"Let me make it up to you. A proper date. Just us." He continued, "Let me show you I'm actually a good guy."
He was nice- nice to look at too- and I guess a Halloween party wasn't the best date idea.
"Okay." I agreed.
"Okay?" He clarified. I nodded. "Saturday, then. 12?" I made an uncomfortable face at that time. I'd made plans to get shopping with the girls at 11. "1?"
I shrugged, "1'll work."
-Saturday-
I'd gone shopping with Bree and Skylar before my date with Jake.
"So, Zadie, wanna come back and catch up on our trashy reality shows at the penthouse?" Bree questioned. My lack of answer caused the two of them to look over.
"I actually have a date."
"A date? Is it that guy..." Bree started.
Skylar looked between us, "Wait, the one from the part? The one who left you alone with that creep?"
"Yeah," I bit my lip, "I wasn't going to speak to him again, but... I don't know. Thought I'd give him a second chance."
"He seemed like an ass."
Skylar sided with Bree, "I agree- don't fully trust him, and have your date somewhere public."
It was refreshing to hear Skylar being supportive and actually looking out for me. "Thanks, Skylar."
