Chapter one. Monsters.

"What in the world is that?!"

"It's a monster, and it wants to kill you. Well, both of us."

Goddammit I think as a black figure raises from the floor, the black mist that is around us taking shape into what apparently is classified as a monster. The thing has two black pointy black horns and a head like a human skull, the eye sockets are completely visible and its eyes are two dots of black light that I'm too afraid to watch for a long time.

"Tell me you have a weapon."

"I do, but not the one you think."

She grabs a blue stone that looks almost like glass from her pocket, and all of sudden it shines and turns into a bow right in her hands.

"Where did you find that?!"

"In a trip to Morocco to probably kill somebody, RSI, you know..."

"No I don't."

"Well now you do."

She replies while tensing a cristaline string from her beautiful, light-blue bow, forming a light blue arrow out of nowhere.

"What is that made of-"

"I'll reply all your questions when we are not in danger, can we both agree on that?"

I nod.

"Wait, just one more question before it fully transforms, what do I do?!"

"Try to develop your powers, you're feeling all that adrenaline, you should have enough energy and that push for you to do something."

I nod again, but I don't feel like that's going to do anything, my powers? They're more absent than my mother in my life and that's a lot to say.

I close my eyes, feel my blood running in my veins, my heart pumping in my ears, is that normal through? I think of it like it was my first crush, veins, Aether, blood, powers, energy, heart, blood, Aether, adrenaline, despair, energy, work for once, please work.

I just really hope it doesn't work like crushes through, otherwise it will never happen.

My hands feel a tingle, but I don't know if it's sweat or energy finally flowing through me, I assume the best for once and concentrate on it, I open my eyes to see the monster fighting Iris, I hurry to see my palms, they have hovering little dots that look like light, when I see them, all of sudden I feel like I'm losing control of them, they turn bigger, and bigger until I panic, I look at Iris and immediately shout.

"Out of the way!"

She looks back at me and without hesitating she jumps aside right in time to dodge a light beam that went out of my hands right before, it fully hits the monster, and little by little, but fast enough, it turns the monster's skin into a glowing yellow, when the beam stops pouring, the monster slowly decays and turns into ash.

"Good job, Adams" she says, walking to the leftovers, digging into them to take out a grey stone. "now this is what matters."

"What is it?"

She replies with silence, like she didn't hear (and maybe she didn't, but I rather staying quiet, I don't want to make her mad, even if I've never seen her mad.).

"So what now?" I ask a little louder. "What's next? What does this mean?"

"You're part of the prophecy, Adams, what is left to do is to wait."

"But for what?"

"The others."

"Do you know them?"
