Today's schedule was a little different. Taz didn't have as many classes with Cadence, which he was disappointed by. They had a class called "physical education", and Taz wasn't exactly sure he'd like this class. It sounded dangerous.
He'd had another free session first thing in the morning, so Taz spent it wandering around the fields on the school campus, until he heard the bell ring, and ran back inside to meet Cadence at their lockers, like they'd promised.
"You ready for P.E.?" Cadence asked, pulling a second bag from his locker, waiting for Taz to do the same. Taz wrinkled his nose and Cadence laughed. "It'll be fine. It's fun. But, I don't think we're in the same group, unfortunately." Taz frowned, and Cadence bumped their shoulders together. "If you want to, you can probably ask to change groups. Just make sure that you're positive you want to change before you ask." Taz nodded, and followed Cadence to what he called the locker rooms.
It smelled pretty bad in there, and Taz wrinkled his nose almost immediately. He didn't like it. He was even more startled when there were several half-naked males inside, and whipped around to stare at Cadence, wide-eyed.
"Oh, that's normal." Cadence blinked. "We all change in here. If you want, there's a bathroom you can change in. Here, I'll show you." Taz stuck close to Cadence, catching eyes with Jamie, who waved at him, looking amused. Taz stuck his tongue out, and ducked into the bathroom.
Taz darted into a stall, setting the toilet seat down to place his clothes on, before changing. He always had to be careful with dressing and undressing, due to his tail. Thankfully, there was clothing in this world designed specifically for shifters who had tails in their human forms. He was happy that he could have clothing that let his tail flicker freely.
When he finished, he hugged his clothes and bag to his chest, and poked his head outside of the bathroom, searching for Cadence, who'd completed changing. Cadence had shorts and a t-shirt on, with his fingerless gloves. Taz absolutely adored Cadence's constellation markings on the back of his hands, but Cadence preferred to hide them. Cadence waved Taz over, and the shifter hurried over, still a little confused and perhaps a little uncomfortable with all the bare skin of strangers showing.
Taz recognized the male that Cadence was talking to as Mikael, who tilted his head in greeting as Taz approached. Mikael tugged a shirt on, and raked a hand through his hair before sitting down on the bench, looking up at Taz.
"We're in the same group." Mikael said, grinning. "Aspen's with us too. Cadence told me that you were worried about being separated from him. Would you be alright with Aspen and I instead?" Taz cast a glance at Cadence, who shrugged. Taz nodded, holding up a thumbs up and Mikael clapped his hands together once before standing up. "Alright!"
"Do you want to leave your stuff here with mine?" Cadence asked Taz, pointing to his bag. Taz hesitated. "No one's gonna steal anything, I promise." Taz set the bag down carefully, and clasped his hands behind his back, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Should we all head down then?" Cadence asked, glancing around the nearly empty locker room.
"Let's go." Mikael said, ducking out of the door to the locker room again. Taz and Cadence followed, and Taz's eyes widened as he saw how many students there were in the floor below them. Cadence had called this a gym. There were large rectangular nets set up, held up by two large poles. Taz had no idea what this was.
When they got down to the floor needed, Cadence bid both Taz and Mikael farewell, promising Taz to meet back up after the lesson. Taz followed Mikael into the gym of their group, and they were met by Aspen, who jumped up, eyes bright as he saw Taz.
