Pidge was waiting for this moment. Her new machine could amplify energy in an object, and she tested it already while wasting 2 days worth of sleep. As always when she was wanting a celebratory picture, she yelled, "GUYS!!! Get over here!" "Ughhh..." moaned Lance. "Do we HAVE to take a group photo?!" Pidge did that weird stare where you just wished you haven't seen. "Yes, you do." Lance moaned again.
------5 minute time skip-----
After everyone was settled, Pidge looked at the phone screen: her in front, flanked by Hunk and Shiro, and Keith and Lance in the back, with everybody's backs to the laser. Allura watched cheerfully, happy to take the photo. Coran, however, disliked watching this and was leaning his elbow near the 'FIRE' button. He yawned, and Pidge, snapped back her head to face him, scaring Hunk. "Don't you DARE press it, Coran!" Coran, goofy as always, said "Did you mean 'Coran, the GORGEOUS man?" He wasn't looking and pressed the button. "Quiznak" was all the paladins thought, before they were hit.
Allura looked at Coran with a face of horror. "CORAN! What in the name of Altea were you THINKING!" Coran looked down at his boots. "I'm sorry, Princess." Allura took a examination on the paladins. All of them weren't moving, and they all seemed hurt, but what scared her the most was that Lance had white spots on his hair and Keith had purple spots on his face. "Get them to the healing pods, Coran!" "Yes princess."
She looked at Pidge's phone, which must've been in auto-take mode. She looked at all of the paladins, except that they were... glowing? She rushed out into the pods. Allura hoped that the paladins were safe.
