When the sorting hat called Regulus, Sirius was balling his hands up into fists because he was scared for Regulus. Remus took notice and slid his hand into Sirius' Sirius didn't mind and just squeezed it. When the sorting hat called out "SLYTHERIN!" his hand went limp. Remus just rubbed small circles on his hand as if to reassure him he's was going to be alright .
