When I woke up, my eyes were met with a stark white ceiling, and my ears heard the beeping of a heart monitor. Great. I landed myself in the hospital.

I blinked a few times, trying to get my eyes used to seeing again, and tried to focus on remembering what happened to put me in the hospital in the first place.

"You're awake!" I heard a voice say. I looked over to the chair sitting by my bed and saw my little brother sitting in it, smiling at me.

"Seems like it." I said, my voice hoarse after not being used. "How long was I out for?"

"A week." He responded, looking down sadly. I felt bad for making him worry. After all, I'm supposed to be the big sister taking care of him.

"Anything interesting happen while I was gone?" I hoped sparking some conversation might lift his spirits.

"Minato became Hokage!" He smiled at me. I smiled back. Minato is the perfect choice. He'll make a great Hokage. "And I graduated and got my team!" He grinned.

"Really? That's great! Do you like them?" I was still searching my brain for what happened before I passed out, but couldn't remember. All I remember is trying to get to Kakashi and failing. Kakashi. Is he okay? Did something happen to him?

"I really like them! They're not as smart as me, but that's okay. They're nice for now." He smiled again. I could tell he was happy with his team, but wanted to move up in the ranks quickly and be independent. I don't blame him. Sometimes working with a team is challenging, but I know wouldn't trade my team for the world.

"That's great, little brother." I smiled at him. "Do you know where Kakashi is?" I asked worriedly. I can't remember anything about our mission other than needing to get to him, and he's not here. Itachi just shook his head at me.

"I haven't seen him since you got dropped off." I sighed. "He was okay though. No injuries." I just nodded my head and smiled at him. Hopefully it reassures him that I'm fine.

Finally, my doctor came in and went through my injuries with me. Apparently I managed to get stabbed in the stomach and lost a fair amount of blood. So that's good. I'd be staying here for at least another week, and then I'd be good as new. I asked about my mission, and he didn't seem to know either. I had then growing sense of dread come over me, like something was horribly wrong.

"Tachi, can you please go find Kakashi and tell him I need to talk to him? Please?" I asked. I know it's not fair to make my brother hunt down my best friend, but I'm running out of ideas.

"Of course! I'll be back!" He smiled at me again and walked out of the room, leaving me alone to try to process what happened. I tried to look at the things I knew. Kakashi and I were on a mission. Was Rin there? I mean, surely, right? We wouldn't go without her. What was this mission? On this mission, I somehow managed to get stabbed, although I'm not sure how it happened. After several minutes, I heard the door to my room open.

"Itachi, did you find-" I stopped midway and was a bit disappointed, but not too much. "Hello Minato-Sensei. Or should I say, Lord Fourth." I grinned at him. I may have wanted him to be someone else, but I was still so proud that he achieved his dream. He chuckled at me.

"Address me as usual, Mika." I nodded. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay, I guess. Confused." He raised an eyebrow at me. "I don't remember anything about the mission other than needing to find Kakashi, and he's not here, and I don't know how to make myself remember, but I have a feeling something bad happened, and I know Itachi told me that he's fine, but it doesn't feel like he's fine, and-"

"Mika, slow down." Minato chuckled. I nodded.

"I'm just worried something happened." His eyes changed to hold extreme sadness, and I knew that something did happen. My breath got caught in my throat, just like it did when Obito died. "Sensei? What happened?" I asked nervously. Was it Kakashi? No, it couldn't be. Itachi said he was fine. He wouldn't lie, right? If it wasn't Kakashi, then who? Rin? I didn't even remember her being there.
