Pt. 2

I stand still in the beating sunlight of Maine.
Well, there goes my only ride back home. I see a man with a light blue polo shirt come out of the building that is hidden underneath the trees a few yards in front of me. He starts walking towards me. I don't know if I should approach him or not, so I slowly make my way towards the building. We meet halfway.
"Howdy, you must be here for Camp Athena? I'm Joe Collins, the camp owner and leader. Nice to meet you." He offers me his hand.
I shake it and give him a smile that puts off the vibe that I want to be here.
"Hi. I'm Avery."
"Well, Avery, do you have a last name? That could come in handy when I sign you in at the front office." He flashes me a smile and starts walking back towards what I'm assuming is the office.
"My last name is Morgan."
"Morgan...I think that I saw an Avery Morgan when I was scanning over the student name list. So you're from California?  I noticed the license plate on the car that dropped you off."
I give him a quizzical smile from behind. "Yes." I readjust my bags.
"Hm. That's a long drive. What, a week right?"
"Yes, sir. 50 hours to be exact."
He chuckled and holds the office door open for me.
"Well, we're glad you could make it. I think you'll like it here."
Everyone keeps telling me that.
The door closes and he leads me to a desk where an older lady sits reading a magazine.
"Mrs. Keever, this is Avery Morgan. Here for Camp. Could you look her up in the system please?"
Mrs. Keever puts down her magazine and quickly glances at me before switching over to her computer.
I noticed that the little office is entirely made out of wood, and there are sliding doors on the left and right sides of us. Both are open with the wind gently blowing through one door and out the other. The ocean is right to the left of us by the boardwalk. You can hear seagulls.
Mrs. Keever clears her throat. "Yes, there is an Avery Morgan here on the list," she looks up at me. "You are in the Sea Turtles cabin."
"Great, thanks. I'll show her the way there." Joe says.
He leads me back further into the office building and out the back end, where it opens up into a patio and leads up to the boardwalk. But we don't go left. Instead, we turn right. Heading towards four cabins. They are all in a circle. Almost like a cul-de-sac in a neighborhood. There are light poles in between each one. The first one going left to right has a yellow roof with a sign in the front claiming that it is the Oyster cabin.
Whew.
Glad I got put in the Sea Turtle cabin.
"See Avery, there are a total of four cabins. There are the Oysters, Clams, Sea Turtles, and Seagulls. The Sea Turtles and Oyster Cabins are for the ladies, and the Seagull and Clams Cabins are for the guys."
"Got it." I say. Hm. Okay. I take it there aren't that many people in this camp. Seeing as there are only four cabins. Next to the Oyster cabin is the Sea Turtle cabin, which has a green roof. Next to that is the Clams cabin, which has kind of white-pinkish roof and next to that is the Seagulls cabin which has a very light blue roof. We stop outside of the Sea Turtle cabin and I notices that the whole little cabin area has sand as the ground instead of dirt or concrete. "Well, this is your cabin. We have an official camp meeting in about an hour so that'll give you time to settle in. Youre actually one of the first campers to arrive. The first lady, actually. The other camper here is a guy in the Seagulls cabin. The meeting will be out here. Well all just gather around that little campfire right there in the middle. Well just go over what the summer will look like and some ground rules." He smiles.
"Okay. Thanks." I say.
He turns and walks back towards the office.
I walk up the ramp and open up the door to the cabin. It too smells like the ocean. There are four beds. Two bunk beds. I toss my bags on the bottom bunk to the left and plop down. Oh my..I'm actually here. I'm actually in Maine, at a summer camp on a beach. I hear a cabin door shut from across me. I assume it the only other camper here, the one from the Seagull cabin. I stand up and look out the window that is above the door. Sure enough, I see a tall, tan guy sauntering out of the cabin. My eyes go wide. He's handsome.
Oh great.
