Katnisses p.o.v
I look behind me checking I'm alone. I continue tying the rope to the fire burning the gecko I found. Suddenly I hear a crunch from the leaves behind me. I turn around quickly my bow in my hand armed but I was happy to see it was marval.
"Did you hear that cannon earlier" he says sweeping his hair back. I love the way he does that it's so cute! "I sure did!" I say putting the bow back down. "Oh and I heard the screams before that?" He looks at me and raises a eyebrow.
"Guess what katniss!" He says. "She was our first kill!" I jump over the log behind me and hug him as for this year they are judging also on how many kills we got.
"That's great!" I mumble into his shoulder. "I mean lets go explore we have been stuck here-" he cuts me off. "Katniss staystill"
He lets go of me and walks towards the bushes. Suddenly 4 hands pull his ankles and he flies into the bush. "RUN KATNISS! RUN!" He shouts before he disappears into the green.
I grab my bow and arrows and my rucksack and leg it. I run about a mile my legs throbbing when Suddenly something jumps at me from the bush and pins me to the ground. I look up to see its the district one female. She lifts up her pocket knife and holds it there. "Merry Christmas" she whispers slyly and brings the knife down to my heart.
