i button kai's shirt as he turns his face to watch the tv. "kai, baby stop moving" i say as i hold his body down so he wouldn't move. we were getting ready to go to the fair with my mom and nova. today is my moms birthday so we decided to do something fun.

my mom and i get in the car and drive towards nova's house to pick her up. once we pick her up, we quickly drive to the fair to get there before it gets full.

"it's already packed" nova says as she looks out the window. i groan in annoyance as she says so. "i hate crowded places" i complain. "malakai will love it" my mom says as we park.

"yay!" malakai cheers as he sees all the other kids running towards the entrance of the fair. i quickly pick him up to my arms in fear that he'd get lost.

"relax alena, he's gonna he fine!" nova says patting malakai's head as we walk in. i leave kai with my mom as nova and i buy the tickets. "we're so getting on g-force!" nova screams and i anxiously shake my head.

"hello no" i reply as i watch the ride go up to the sky and drop. "you're insane nova." i say and she smirks as she pulls me towards my mom and malakai. "bebe you wanna play something?" i ask kai as he stares at the stuffed animals on the booths.

he nods his head and walks towards the coin tosser. i give the lady 6 tickets and she hands kai the the coins. "all you have to do is-"

"i know mommy" he cuts me off and i look at him confused. "he knows mommy" nova mimics him causing me to laugh.

"ugh!" kai shouts as he drops all the coins on the floor. "baby you need to be more careful" i say as i bend down to pick up the coins. i quickly back up to pick up the rest of the coins and i feel myself bump into someone.

i quickly turn around and i see a women. "oh my god i'm so sorry!" i say and she laughs as she rubs her baby bump.

"it's okay!" she says as she smiles sweetly. "you have a beautiful baby bump! how far along are you?" i ask and she puts her thinking face.

"32 weeks!" she says and i smile. "boy or girl?" i asks and she shows me the color of her pink bracelet.

"how adorable" i say and she thanks me as she looks at kai. "is he your kid?" she asks and i nod as i stare at him toss the coins. "his name is malakai." i say as i hand him the coins i had picked up.

"that's a beautiful name!" she says. "i bought the tickets baby." i hear a voice behind her say. she moves to the side revealing the person. my heart skips a beat as i stare at him.

nova steps next to me as we stare at him in shock. he looks over at me and his eyes go wide. "how old is he?" the girl asks and i gulp as i quickly look down.

"he's uh- he's three" i say and she smiles and she bends down to rub malakai's head. he looks at me confused as he hears me say three. "he's your kid?" he asks and the women nods yes signaling that he was my kid.

"i'm adalyn by the way!" she says extending her hand to me. "i'm alena, it was very nice to meet you" i say shyly and she smiles.

"timothée don't be disrespectful, greet her." adalyn says, breaking his train of thought. "oh right! i'm timothée." he says extending his hand to me. i place my hand on his and quickly shake it.

his hand felt the same. soft and heavy.

*flashback 3 years ago*

"why is your hand so heavy?" i ask as i shake his hand around. "i don't know my love, it just is" timothée says as he gently caresses my face.

"they're soft as well" i giggle as he squishes my cheeks together.

"that's why i have you to hold them since they're too heavy for me" he says playfully causing me to laugh. "my hands are too small for you" i say and he laughs taking one of my hand in his.

"i love them" he says bringing it towards his lips giving it a small kiss.

*present tense*

"well we've got to get going" adalyn says as he hugs timothée. i nod my head as i watch them walk away.

timothée turns his head towards me as he walks forward with adalyn in his arms. he takes a quick glance towards kai and shakes his head facing forward again.

and just like that he leaves. again.
