"what's this?" she asks confused as she quickly faces timothée. timothée turns red as he stares off. "i-" uh he stutters and i quickly cut him off.
"i gave my number to him just now! before you got here. i told him i was having trouble with the air conditioning at home and he was willing to help."
air conditioning? am i stupid? timmy knows nothing about air conditioning.
"awh baby that's so sweet of you!" she smiles as she rubs his back. he nods his head shyly as he kisses her forehead quickly.
"you know what?" she says and i raise my brows signaling her to continue. "we should head over there now! we have nothing else to do. right timmy?" adalyn says causing me to panic.
"no-no it's okay!"
"ugh i insist! you and your son have been so sweet to us ever since we met you guys!" she says sweetly causing me to smile.
-
we finally arrive home and i open the door for timothée and adalyn.
"excuse the mess, malakai hasn't learned to pick up for himself" i laugh as they make their way to the table.
"it's okay! we'll eventually feel the struggle once this little one pops out!" adalyn laughs. i glance over to timmy as he looks around and scratches his head.
"you guys go get started!" adalyn tells timmy as she walks up to me taking malakai from my arms. "i'll play with kai here while timmy helps you with the air conditioning!" she says excitedly.
i nervously smile as i guide timothée to the air-vent in my room.
"you do know i'm not actually fixing anything right?" he asks and i nod my head as i stay quiet. "so malakai?" he asks and i shrug.
"do you have nothing to say to me?" he asks causing me to shrug again.
"he's three years old alena. we were together three years ago." he says and i nod my head signaling that i knew that already. "so is he mine?" he says a little to loudly causing me to stumble back.
"is everything okay over there?" adalyn shouts.
"everything is fine baby." timothée shouts back.
"so is he?" he asks again. "look timothée, you really have no business asking me that question. you left me."
"alena no i didn-"
"yes you did! you left me. you left me alone and you didn't look back! you left without thinking twice. you didn't think about how this would hurt me."
"of course i thought about it alena! you don't think i'm hurt too?" he asks and i shake my head as a tear rolls down my face.
"well it doesn't matter anymore. i don't even understand why you're here. why aren't you in new york?" i ask causing him to sigh.
"things didn't work out the way i wanted them to so i came back a year after i left."
a year? is he kidding? and he didn't even come back to me.
"wow." i breathe out as i stare at him in disbelief. "you couldn't even come see me?" i ask and he chuckles in annoyance. "why would i? you stopped talking to me." he says causing my eyes to widen.
"and by the looks of it, you got yourself knocked up by someone else who wasn't me when we were together."
i shake my head and immediately swing my hand across his face.
"malakai is your child you stupid idiot. you knew i loved you. you know i loved you more than you ever loved me."
"alen-"
"you should go." i say cutting him off. "no what? we need to talk about this, he's my kid alena-"
"no he's not. his dad left three years ago."
"i would've stayed if i knew!" he says grabbing my hand. i pull my hand back and look down at my feet not wanting to look at him.
"you have a baby on the way, focus on that timothée."
i look up and my eyes lock with his. his eyes begin to water as i wipe the tears off my face. he walks around me and opens the door, calling adalyn to go home.
