This was it.
All the practicing at 8am with the fourteen year olds.
As we all lined up ready to get our names ticked off, I saw that guy again.
I stared for a while. And when he turned my way I started reading a advert.
When I saw him glance away, I looked at what I was pretending to read.
" Kick boxing club!"
Yay! now I look like a kick-ass type of girl.
Maybe he will think more of me.
"Jonah Red!" the teacher yelled.
"Hey!" a boy emerged from the crowd with a cheeky smirk on his face. That was him! Jonah! That's his name!
Okay, calm down Charlie. Stay cool.
When my name was finally called out I walked coward with my tens of thousands of bags.
I drop one on one of the boy's feet.
"Watch it!" he yells.
"Sorry!" I say, rolling my eyes.
The boys started to whisper something and laughed.
Glancing at me as I passed.
I sat on the bus and searched for a place with me best friend Amy.
We moved to the back of the bus where Jonah sat.
"Move!" someone yelled.
It was him!
I smiled and did what he said.
I checked the teams when we got there.
Me, Harry, Layla and JONAH!!
JONAH! Doing Butterfly!
Yes!
I need to make myself look good.
"I wake up at 4am to start training and train with the 18 year olds. I'm the best!"
This is not the result I wanted. Jonah and Harry roll their eyes.
I better stop.
"Show off!" they yell.
Layla walks up and Jonah stares.
I repeat the story again to Layla.
She just smiles. That was all I ask for! Just a smile. Even a fake one will do.
The day went well. We came third in our race and the school won. Again.
On the way home on the school bus, I was talking to my friend Rachel.
"And sometimes I see him look at me!" I continue.
"Don't worry," she replies. Like I would be worried. " He looks at everyone."
"No he looks at me special!" I argue.
