I thought I'd gotten the worst of it, but that changed when the dreams started. I open my eyes to a beautiful field, filled with trees and lovely flowers never before seen on earth, I knew immediately I was back on my planet. So all that happened wasn't real? I thought to myself. I didn't have much time to ponder on that, I saw my dad sitting at the clearing not so far with a picnic set out. I ran on seeing him wanting to hug him as I thought I'd lost him for good, but trust my life to take a turn for worse. The scene immediately changed to our basement with me falling down into the black hole, the last I'd seen of my dad rushing through my mind as I wake with a start.
"Luke! He's awake." Maurice called. "Get him something to drink." My vision clears slowly with the memory of my dream still fresh in my head. Their home was pretty simple, nothing much to it, I was laid on a chair with 3 other similar colored ones arranged, though smaller than the one I'd been resting on. It took me a few seconds to register the changes, for one my home never had a television hanging on the wall, nor a flower vase, flower decorations in my planet were all grown from the walls and have a set growth pattern to them. This was just vases laid around, I wondered how the flowers were going to grow out of the earth, maybe dad had... That's when it hit me, I wasn't on my planet neither was my dad still alive(bummer).
"Hey kid, you okay?" I hadn't noticed Maurice before me untill he'd asked that question, didn't take to long for Luke to come in with a glass of water in his hands. I couldn't understand what he said at first, I guess he noticed the confusion on my face cause he just gestured for Luke to hand over the glass to me. Well that wasn't for long, the ai my dad had installed was done with accessing the planet and its ways, all of a sudden I understood everything they said without trouble "I don't think he understands us. He's probably not from here." Luke said, (Well who says earthlings aren't smart.) "I understand you now, and yes I'm not from around here." I replied shocking both of them immediately.
"Err, well, you must be famished. I'll get you something." Maurice said and then he walked out. Now at first I was confused as to how well I could understand what they said perfectly, this was my first time here after all, well I wasn't given much time to ponder as I heard my dad's voice at the back of my mind. [" Hello Ah-Ruine, I've been programmed to help you out in transitioning to an earthling as best as could be. And as I was linked to your brain waves, I also took on the voice of someone close to you to make you feel more comfortable with my being in your head(And it just had to be someone I'd just lost, talk about dark humor), please feel free to refer to me when the earth ways seem too confusing."] This all seemed a bit much for me to process no doubt, I couldn't believe just how rotten my luck was, I'd lost my dad and was sent so far away from my home land, all in a matter of minutes everything came crashing down, and now I've got my dad's voice as an ai in my head(sucks to be me).
Luke drew nearer to me with a plate of weird looking circles and lots of crumbs all around. " You should eat something. " He said with a soft smile, trying to get me to be more comfortable no doubt. [" Hey dad, what's this stuff?"] I asked in my head. Well the reply came just as fast as the question did. [" Those are biscuits, it's safe to eat, you don't have to worry about anything."] I took one and bit a little chunk of it to chew. That's when it hit me, the biscuit was really good, with enough sugar to keep a kid wanting, I took two extra and ate away before my manners came to me. "Err, thank you." I guess I didn't know just how hungry I was, Luke just smiled at me and left the plate before me to finish up while he stepped back to stand with Maurice.
They were talking about something, me no doubt, but I couldn't hear what they were saying as they spoke in whispers. They just kept looking back at me while I ate, I just acted like I didn't know it, well till I was done eating. "I can see you looking back and forth at me." I voiced my irritation out as nicely as I could, that was hard seeing as I'd already had it bad, but I guess they didn't take offense in how I said it. "I'm sorry, my name's Luke. What's yours?" Luke was an average height dark skinned man, his face was mostly free except for few patches of a growing beard here and there, he was a little buff and bald too. Maurice on the other hand was much taller, say err, 6'2 or thereabout, he was also dark skin only much lighter in comparison to Luke. I paused a bit before answering the question, I didn't know if to give out my real name or maybe to ask the ai for a fake one. I thought maybe it wouldn't hurt to trust them a little, they did help me after all.
"My name's Ah-Ruine, I'm not from here, as you've guessed. I come from a different planet called Kligar." They both looked at me with confused expressions on their faces, I knew it was hard to believe because I myself couldn't believe it, my planet is so many light-years away from here, yet here I am. I explained what happened to me and how I'd gotten all the way to their home, putting in how I could only get what they said thanks to my dad and his mentally linked ai. I knew it was a lot to take it, they certainly didn't believe me for a while, I had to show them proof with my dad's laptop. Showed them how easy it was to get a quick scope of earths solar system and even the it's generally registered name(Quarot sector). It took much convincing but... (Hey you, stop giving out all the details in one go, didn't you want to take your time with them? This one and getting too interested in telling my own story, can you believe him?)
