As Leonard was still wondering where he was a nurse came by and told him to go to the physician's office, he rushed there and opened the door
'Mr. Leonard Smith, am I right? The doctor started after showing him his seat
'Certainly doc' Leonard replied shortly in a humble voice
'Well, your patient Becky Smith was recently diagnosed with bleeding into her brain with which needs to be removed by surgery, all we need is your consent to operate her as soon as possible' the doctor explained briefly
'I consent doc, I have no insurance coverage, and how's that going to cost me? Leonard replied politely
'It's a bit of a lot of money needed, it sums to about thirty three thousand dollars, will you be able to get that in time? The doctor replied
'God, how much time are we talking about here? Leonard replied in a very disappointed voice
'I'm afraid you have only forty eight hours, the surgery is very important and it needs to be done very soon'
After a few minutes Leonard signed the consent forms and went out to find the amount needed, he went directly to the bank only to find his account having only six hundred dollars, he rushed home and opened Becky's tuition fees deposit box, there he found another six thousand dollars, he still needed twenty six thousand and four hundred dollars, he tried to contact some of his friends but most of them lent him to about ten thousand dollars which made him indebted of about sixteen thousand dollars, there was only one hard option, to go to Derrick Nicklaus, the cruel infamous drug dealer.
Derrick Nicklaus was a short stout man of about fifty years of age, he had a big head and round protruding eyes, he was known for his habit of nude parties, he owned a large mansion with an attractive collection of expensive cars, his house was always protected with guards and CCTV cameras, he was a famous and smart drug dealer, he laundered money is his many cigarette companies, Leonard once worked for him while he was still a teenager.
'You are well aware that is a lot amount of money you want to borrow and i am perfectly sure you wont be able to return it in a timeframe you said, why do you think I should take that risk? Derrick said in his Russian accent
'You will take the risk because you know what am capable of doing, you trusted me with your business then, and you will trust me with your money now, I will give it back in cash in less than a month' Leonard replied confidently
'That's some nerve i see, I will give you all the twenty thousand dollars right now while smiling, you will see this smile again when you give my money back, you won't like me frowning will you?' Derrick said and ordered one of his guards to give the money to Leonard, after taking the money he rushed to the hospital.
Two weeks after the surgery Becky was still in a comma, the surgery went well and she was starting to show some signs of responding to some stimuli, Leonard was very happy and continued to visit her every day. As days went by Leonard and Amanda grew towards each other much more, Leonard was always despising her a thing which made her really angry, one day as he was going home from the hospital he saw a guy selling glasses, he simply stole one without being seen and entered a cafeteria nearby.
'You are going to return this and apologize right now or am calling the vendor and the police right now' It was Amanda's voice who stood behind him, she saw everything
'What the hell do you want in my life you sarcastic wench? And what the hell are you talking about? Leonard replied dryly
'You know exactly what am talking about boy, the glasses, return them right now or its getting pretty rough here' Amanda replied while looking in the direction of a police officer on the other side of the room.
'You mean these? Fuck, okay I will return them right now, get the hell out of my black face' Leonard replied angrily and went outside, he placed the glasses silently and walked away, Amanda just smiled
