"Yellow, are you sure you want to do this?" Purple asked. I knew her worry. I was the youngest out of our group and the only one who chose to leave.
"Yeah. It's not like I don't know what city I came from. I can come back whenever I want, and I promise I'll call and visit, okay?" I attempted to appease her.
"You better, Sunny." Orange wrapped me in one of her famous bear hugs. I barely reached her shoulder, so I always got extra smushed.
"Ooh! And bring back some of those 'I heart NY' shirts!" Green begged.
"Maybe." I turned to Red and Blue. They were the oldest, and I'd grown closest to them. I threw myself at them and wrapped my arms around them.
"We'll miss you, bug." Blue whispered.
"If you don't visit, I'll hunt you down." I giggled at Red's threat.
"I promise I'll visit." I assured her. She nodded and ushered me towards the plane.
"Now go, weirdo." I shrugged her hands off of my shoulders and walked up the ramp. Don't turn back. I told myself. I knew I'd cry if I did.
I found my seat, by a window, near the back. The girls had made sure that I had all three seats in my row to myself so that I would be safer. Once I was settled in, headphones on and music playing, I drifted off into a deep slumber.
