Captain Yami Takes the Lead

[M/N][L/N] P.O.V

Yami stood casually stood in front of Asta and I with his sword relaxing on the back of his neck. Asta and I were in shock so Asta asked how Yami knew where we were. Yami casually replied with how he got a message that Noelle gave to Headquarters about the whole situation. He was the closest one that wasn't drunk. I looked over to Finral and clearly he was drunk. The man Licht was next to asked if he wanted to bring them over but Licht declined.

"No, I've always wanted to fight against a dark magic user"

Asta told Finral to get the nun and the kids to safety. A portal opened as Finral picked up the nun and the children followed him. Yami told Finral that he had to come back. I sensed something bad as Finral was trying to reason with Yami. Yami stepped in front of Finral and blocked it. He was very angry by the dark look on his face.

"What the hell are you doing to my magic carpet?"

Licht looked surprised as Finral jumped through the portal while Asta asked for an explanation. Yami yelled at the portal for Finral to return later. I took a stance and tried to get the teleporter that was at Licht's side.

"This is a katana, it's a weapon from the land of the rising sun"

"Isn't that Japan?"

Yami hummed in acknowledgement. He seemed a bit surprised by my knowledge. He continued smoking before bending his knees slightly and unleashing a barrage of dark slashes.

"I don't have the time to explain and I don't want to either. Just look" Yami stated as he attacked even when Licht went behind him. Yami questioned who Licht really was and Licht told his story. I'm surprised Yami actually listened. Then, Yami told his own story of how he was from a fishing village. I laughed a bit when he said he beat up anyone who opposed him.

Licht remained amused while his follower thought Yami was making fun of Licht. They kept fighting back and forth while I went and got Asta healed. I kept quiet so the enemies wouldn't notice me since my presence was nonexistent.

'Nature's Love: Major Blessing'

The wounds on Asta healed quickly. I went over to Gauche and kept concentrating on healing him too before quickly going back to Asta. He seemed more likely to injure himself. Yami kept fighting Licht but there new conversation made me feel unsettled.

"You must be the one that did this to Captain Fuegoleon and Ghost Maid"

"Correct, after all that meticulous planning, I had him fall into a trap. Alas, I didn't account for such a small boy getting in our way. I believe he was from your group. He actually fooled me with his illusion. I want him now especially with that shield he had."

I trembled a bit and moved myself behind Asta so they would be unlikely to see me. I didn't want them getting the pendant but why would they want me. Yami looked so angry now, he grit his teeth because Fuegoleon had been lured into a trap.

"I'm sure you did make him fall into a trap, because there's no way in hell he'd lose to a wimpy ass attack of yours!"

'Dark Magic Shadow Stalk: Avidya Slash'!

A massive wave of dark magic broke through a barrier of Licht's as it cut his cheek. Yami had a dark look on his face. The smoke coming off his cigarette adding to the effect. Licht's follower freaked out over the cut as Licht smirked.

"This time there's no traps to hide behind! I'll show you the true power of a Magic Knight Captain!"

Yami then called out to Asta.

"Shrimp, you've been watching right. Now do the same"

In seconds, Asta went from in awe to freaking out. Yami turned around and grabbed his head, explaining what Ki was and how he used it in combination with his attacks. It basically meant, a really cool magic swordsman.

"I believe Ghost Maid has it too but he doesn't know it"

I pointed at myself while thinking about my intuition. I didn't think it was Ki but maybe another technique. The follower of Licht stated how he could let Licht fight him seriously. Even if he was out of place, he wanted to help. Yami's eyes widened as he noticed me but I quickly put a finger to my lips to signal that he shouldn't call me out loud. Yami understood it so he turned back around and kept attacking.

"Thank you Valtos, you're always looking out for me. Why don't you capture that boy and if possible find the one with the pendant? I know he's here, his vine magic interrupted me earlier. I don't mind if you roughen them up. I want them both alive"

"I won't even break a sweat"

Valtos said as he opened a portal behind us. I immediately moved away while Asta still didn't realise. Luckily, Yami easily blocked it for him. He told Asta to use all his senses or he would kill Asta himself. My vine magic quietly crept up Valtos's leg in the meantime while never touching him. Asta concentrated and managed to deflect it back into the portal as my vines binded his legs so he wouldn't dodge. He got knocked down and Licht got real mad.

'Nature's Protection: Unbreakable Shield'

Licht's light magic made a whip that caused the cave to collapse once it was sent our way. I made a dome out of vines to protect us from the rubble. Asta awed at my magic capability while Yami smirked and ruffled my hair.

Once the noise was gone and the trembling stopped, my vines pushed off all the rubble. Asta and Yami bursted out with smirks on their faces. Their sword held up in the air. Licht looked at the both of them like flies until he spotted me and smirked.

"LET'S STEP THINGS UP WHILE YOU'RE DOING WELL,NEXT HIT PASTY WITH NO EYEBROWS!" Yami cheered

"Whaat?! Well I actually feel like I can do it!" Asta yelled

Yami immediately changed his mind and kicked Asta. As a result, he fell over onto the ground. Asta yelled about how Yami got him all riled up while his response was to just deal with it. Valtos stood up as Licht still stood there and outstretched his hand towards me. That same smirk on his face.

"I don't just want the pendant anymore. I really want you now too (M/N)"
