You made me feel loved.
You gave me a reason to laugh.
You wiped away my tears.
You cheered me on when I was struggling.
You gave me strength when I was the weakest.
You proved yourself worthy.
Yes, you did years ago.
Now I look back at those moments,
And I can feel nothing but regret.
You gave everything so I would stay.
But all I did was pushed you away.
I made you feel miserable.
I became your destruction.
I was gone, leaving no trace.
I turned my back against one of God's greatest grace.
Now many years after,
I still think of you but also about your wife and your precious daughter.
And it may sound shameless,
But I can't help but imagine what it would be like if I was in her place.
