Y/n's POV:
I had a hard time sleeping last night, as I couldn't stop thinking about how Ariana had just up and left after I introduced her to Jasmine. Whatever her problem is or was, I'm hoping to get an explanation out of her today. I got up early, so that I could get to work before her, as I didn't want to risk her avoiding me all day.
I patiently waited for her to arrive and soon enough she did. When she gets out of her car, she's dressed in her casual over-sized sweater, shorts, and boots outfit. However, I also notice how tired she looks. She must have not slept well last night either, but why?
Once she's inside, I decide to follow her to the studio room, before finally confronting her.
"Morning" I tell her.
She turns around and any form of a smile that she had on her face, instantly drops when she sees me.
"Oh, hey" she says, in a bitter tone.
"Okay, what is your problem?"
"You haven't figured that out yet?" She sneers.
"No, because as far as I can remember, I haven't done anything to upset you or make you mad, so I don't get what your issue is."
"And this is why we're not talking." She says.
"What do you mean?! I haven't done anything! You're the one that acted weird and left abruptly after I introduced you to Jasmine!"
"Why wouldn't I act weird and leave?! Jesus Y/n, I can't believe you're sharing an apartment with the girl that confessed to you!!" She shouts.
With the girl that confessed to me?
"Hold up, what?"
"Don't act stupid! You know I saw that girl and you in the break room that day! You told me that you didn't have feelings for her, yet you're sharing an apartment together?!" She says.
Ohhhhh, that.
"You have it all wrong."
"Do I? Because the evidence would say otherwise" she says, while crossing her arms.
"Yes, you do."
"Then explain" she says.
"I will."
"Good."
I take a deep breath and slowly let it out before speaking.
"Okay, first off, yes it was Jasmine that was in the break room with me that day, and yes she was confessing to me."
Ariana lifts an eyebrow and opens her mouth to speak, but I stop her.
"But, she wasn't actually confessing to me, she was..um showing me how I should uh-"
"-spit it out Y/n!" Ariana says, getting impatient.
"She was showing me how I should confess my feelings to you." There, I finally said it.
Ariana looks at me still unamused and not entirely convinced.
"Okay look, I suck at expressing my feelings, especially when their romantic ones. As I've told you before, I haven't had the best dating history. I banned myself from dating after my last relationship failed about six years ago. I was shit at expressing my feelings back then too. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I ended up asking Jasmine for advice on how to confess to you. She told me what I should do, but I didn't understand how I should say everything. So, she offered to demonstrate how she tells people, and that's when you walked in. When I saw how upset you looked, I immediately realized why and started to panic. You left before I could even explain what was going on and that's when Jasmine told me to chase you. So, I did....Jasmine has never been in love with me, at least not in a romantic way that is, and nor have I ever felt that way about her. She's actually part of the reason why I didn't just up and quit, how I got the courage to confess, and why I came here early to talk with you today. She has been nothing but supportive of me and of whatever we have going on...I'm sorry that you had to witness what you did and if it hurt you, but it wasn't real. It was all just really bad timing."
At first, Ariana looks shocked. However, her face quickly changes to guilt and understanding, and she uncrosses her arms from her chest.
"Y/n-I I'm sorry. You're right. I should have believed you when you told me the first time that you didn't have feelings for her. I just-I wasn't expecting her to be your roommate, and I didn't really know how to react. I shouldn't have left without giving you time to explain everything. I tend to think the worst in those type of situations..." she says, not being able to keep eye contact with me.
"I also uh...may have been um just a little jealous" she says, her cheeks reddening.
This also made my face heat up. I didn't expect her to become jealous of Jasmine. Yes, she's pretty and has a great personality, but she doesn't even begin to compare to Ariana.
"So, do you forgive me?" Ariana asks.
"Yes, of course, what about you?"
She nods, then walks over to me and wraps her arms around my torso in a tight hug.
"I'm sorry" she says.
"I'm sorry too, for not warning you ahead of time. I'm just happy that we cleared everything up."
"I hated how I left you yesterday, it made it hard for me to sleep." She says.
"Well, you're not the only one" I tell her, while I rub small comforting circles on her back.
After a short time of this, Ariana finally pulls away.
"I have an idea. Why don't you come cover over to my place after work for dinner and bring Jasmine. Think of it as a do-over from yesterday, except this time I'll actually get to know her" She says.
"I would have to see what Jasmines plans are first, but other than that sounds good to me."
She smiles, then looks behind me to see if anyone is around, before pulling me into a quick kiss. I pull her back in for another more passionate kiss, and this time I hear what I thought was a small moan escape from her lips.
I stopped and was about to ask her if she really just did what I thought. Until I heard someone walk bye the room we're in, making us both pull away from each other.
Ariana's face was red, but more than usual. Indicating that she definitely did not mean to let whatever noise she made slip out.
"S-So, I'll see you later?" She says.
"Yeah." I smile, thinking how I got her so easily flustered.
"O-Okay, be over around 7:00pm" she says.
I nod, and with that we leave the room and go our separate ways to begin the work day.
To Be Continued...
