"My name is Ethan Mallory. I was supposed to be here for 8:30?"
I just couldn't stop staring. The way his skin pulled over his chiseled jaw when he talked. Heaven.
"Of course! I apologize for being rude. I had a late night and didn't get any caffeine this morning. My name is Alexandra, but please call me Andy. Only my mother still calls me by my full name."
"Sure"
I opened up the front door and led him into the back room where we keep all of our rental wet suits an scuba gear.
"I'm assuming you don't have your own equipment?"
"No, I'm just spending summer break here. I've never scuba dived before. Hence the lessons" he answered with a smirk. Pearly whites. Fantastic.
"Alright. So then we won't start with the tanks. How tall are you?"
"Six foot two." Good lord. My blood pressure was getting dangerously high. Were there no flaws to this man?
I handed him a wet suit.
"This should fit. Don't worry if its a little snug. It should feel tight across your shoulders. It will expand when it gets wet."
"Do you have to wear a wet suit here?" Clearly he wasn't from around here.
"In Canada? More often then not. In July, definitely. In August, less so. By then the water's warmed up."
He nodded and I showed him towards a change room.
"Just come and meet me back here when your done."
Naturally I was changed and had our gear ready to go before he was done. The first time you put a wetsuit on will always be the hardest, after that you develop techniques. But getting it off? That will never get easier. It still takes me a minimum of five minutes to peel myself out of it.
"You weren't kidding when you said this was gunna be tight" Ethan muttered as he walked out of the change room stretching his long arms and legs every few steps. Okay, no nasty judgement, but I may have glanced down towards his crotch. And let me tell you, wetsuits are fantastic, glorious things. Built with women's pleasure in mind. And Ethan was not lacking in size. No, stop, he is a client and you are being very unprofessional.
"Okay. So this morning we are just going to make sure your completely comfortable underwater and holding your breath."
"Sounds like a plan" he smiled another award winning smile that made me melt into even more of a puddle. We grabbed our masks, snorkels and fins. It was just after nine now and the sun was warming the air up nicely. We walked down to the shop-owned SUV and packed the gear into the back.
When the drive to Tobermory got slightly too silent for my taste I started asking questions.
"So where are you from?"
"Dublin, Ireland"
"Really!? You don't have an accent?"
Then his voice changed to a beautifully thick Irish accent. "I usually do."
"Why do you hide it?"
"I try to fit in as much as I can wherever I go. I don't like looking like a tourist" he smirked. I couldn't blame him. I was the same way. I went to Paris for an end of highschool trip with my friends. Walking around with a camera on my neck and a giant backpack was embarrassing.
"So your just here for summer break?" I enquire, wanting to know more about this beautiful man.
"Yeah, kind of an end of first year of uni trip. Except I didn't bring any friends"
"What are you studying?" Perfect, he was the same age.
"Undecided, just trying to figure out what I like, you know."
We had arrived at the shore where Jump in takes all of our newbies. The lake was amazingly flat for this time of year. Kind of strange actually. Usually there's at least white caps farther out. Well I'm just going to count my blessings and enjoy it. Although I think I'm going to enjoy more than just the flat water today. I turn to Ethan with a huge grin plastered on my face.
"Let's go!"
