The early morning lineups in the  Gupta household is always a rush as many try to get ready at the same time.
_"Where are my socks?"_
_"Mom, can you iron my shirt?"_
_"Hush! You'll wake the baby up"_
Amruth Gupta hears all the clamours of complaints going around her whilst sipping her hot cup of tea.
Her daughter in law is slave driven by her husband and children inspite of many servants in the house.
Guptas are one of the richest in the city.
Amruth has come to the city with her husband with just a 100 rupee note but with a determination to become successful. After going through many struggles they were able to build up their own business and eventually became successful. They had blissful marriage and were blessed with two children.
"Here ma, have some fruits". Saima, her daughter in law gives her a bowl of fruits.
"Why don't you marry your sons off?"
"They will have their wives to sort their lives"
"Poor you! It is high time now,  you should take rest." Said Amruth.
"My Ryan is married yet he needs me all the time." Smiled Saima sadly.
Guptas follow some unwritten rules and one of them is the whole family  should consume all the three courses together no matter how busy one seems to be.
At the dot of eight the family has gathered around the dining table.
Clicking of the silverware  can be heard, business discussions going around and gossips are being exchanged.
Amruth who sits at the head of the table absorbs everything silently and her eyes travel around the table acknowledging each member from her son Rithish to his wife  Saima and their five children Ryan, Ram, Rahul, Sanam, Rishi and Sanya and to their daughter in law Pragathi who is a new mother to the baby upstairs sleeping.
Then they rest on her daughter Gayathri. Her eyes moist up and tiny tears seep from it.
"Did we rush in giving her in marriage." She always questions herself.
If only they had taken things at a slower space.... her husband would be with her today.
"What ma?" Rithish asked her pressing her knobbly hand.
She shocked her head  and returned  his touch.
"When is your orientation Rishi?" Ram asked.
"In two days' time." Said Rishi.
Today is Wednesday so your orientation is on Friday!. Saima said as a statement.
"Isn't it the same day the groom's family coming to see our Sanam?" Said Amruth.
"Oh no!"
" how can we take Rishi to his college and welcome the Sunils at the same time?" Wondered Saima loudly.
"Mummy!!! I'm not a young boy  remember I'm going to college now so please stop treating me as a baby."
"No matter how grown up you are! You'll always be my baby"
Rishi just rolled his eyes as his siblings mock- laughed at him.
"Rahul bhaiya if you are done can you drop me at the GYM?  Rishi asked.
"Yeah, I'm all set to leave." Rahul replied.
One by one left the dining area for their day's work.

"Ma, I got the job and today am starting" Said Priya through the phone.
"Sorry ma, yesterday I was busy searching for a hostel so was not able to call you."
"Oh beta, I'm so sad to see you earning for us"
Said Sumati from the other end.
" it is alright ma, you gave me a good education and the money will help us with pa's operation."
"Be careful beta, the men in city are dangerous and be careful of your possessions too."
"Don't worry ma, I'm a strong woman nobody can steal anything from me." She laughed.

Little did she know that someone is there to steal her heart.
