Ravishing

Chapter 4

Traffic is usually such a buzz kill, but the excitement buiding up inside of me is uncontrolable, I might burst at any second.

What if I don't get to meet them? No! wrong mind set, let's take it back a bit. positive thoughts, positive thoughts...positive thoughts.

I stare out the window, the glare from the sun nearly blinding me causing me to flinch. I have to make sure I didn't just accidentaly blind myself, maybe if i focus on one of the freeway signs... lets see.

*LAX Next Right*

 "AH!" I let out a loud yelp causing Kelly to jump from her seat.

" What?! What?! Are you okay?"

my face begins to turn a scarlet red, "Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you. It's just were almost there. and trust me that scared me just as much as it scared you, I don't usually scream" I mutter Apologetically.

Kelly just looks at me with humor filling her smile. She bursts out laughing. Wow, is she really laughing at me, jeez she witnesses me at a weak moment in life, and she laughs. Uhm, rude? Although I guess it was pretty funny?

I join in on her laugh. If you can't laugh at yourself who will? "everyone else.." my conscious snarks at me. Go away you negative Nancy.

"Hey were almost there love." What? already? I must've seriously blanked out.

I look out the window--with caution this time. We are about to enter a parking lot, and I am about to seriously jump out of this seat and roll out into the pavement, James Bond style.

I giggle at my reverie. Wow, aren't I desperate.

Kelly must be catching on because I feel her looking at me with the corner of my eye. " Calm down, I just need to park and we will be on our way"

"Is it really that obvious?" I laugh and Kelly joins me with her sweet all american laugh.

We finally find a parking space after searching for what seemed like an eternity. Kelly and I simultaneously get out of the car and meet each other behind it colliding as we give each other the tighest hug ever.

I really did miss her and her cotton candy colored hair. She was the most beautiful person I had ever met, and she wouldn't take anyones crap. I held my great friend not wanting to let go.

Now, this is a proper hello, I wasn't able to hug her because we were in a rush to get here, but now I was able to completely look at her, and boy did she grow up. she was tall and slim, wow, this is the same girl that left months ago?

"I've missed you so much" I tell her.

" I know" she responds, I can feel the smile on her face.

We finally release each other from this rather long embrace.

"You've grown up, look at you, Your curves are coming in, your still a bit skinny though" she teased.

"Hey! look who's talking and nice ink, did you just get that?" She looked at her arm

"Yeah about a month ago. It really is good to see you again." Kellytells me as she playfully shoves me with her elbow. I smile at my close friend one more time before we make our way to the terminal.
