Chapter 9: Prawn Proposal Gone Wrong

Veronica's P.O.V.

I was currently in the middle of the road as Zed was on a ladder, putting light bulbs on the arrow that would point to himself for his prawn proposal to Addison.

I stood next to Zoey, who was holding confetti and I was holding two confetti poppers.

I tried to contact Wyatt if he would like to come and meet Zed and my friends, but he hasn't replied. I haven't heard from him in almost a week and I'm feeling mixed emotions.

Anxiety because I fear I might have done anything wrong and worry because I don't know where he is.

I hope he's okay.

"When do I throw the confetti?" Zoey asked.

"And when do I pop these?" I added.

Zed looked back a bit as he continued working on the last light bulb. "You'll know."

In a matter of seconds, the arrow lit up and I nodded in approval.

I suddenly heard something, which made me turn around. I saw the cheerleading bus.......headed straight for him!

Is Shrimpy driving the bus again?!

"Zed!" I shouted, making him turn around. "Uh, oh."

He screamed as the bus hit him and he was hanging onto it.

"Zed!" I shouted as I grabbed Zoey's hand and pulled her with me. We both ran, trying to catch up to the bus.

Soon, he managed to fall off the bus and I caught up to him just as the large vehicle swerved off the road into the Forbidden Forest.

"Now!" Zoey said as she threw the confetti.

"Are you okay?" I asked my best friend, who nodded as he had a look of disappointment.

"Yeah." he replied.

I need to go see if Addison and the others are okay!

We all just looked at each other before I walked off.

"Veronica, wait!" Zed told me.

"I have to go see if they're okay! Follow me!" I told him before running into the direction of where the bus went.

I ran as fast as I could, looking in every direction possible. I looked back, hoping to see Zed and Zoey behind me, but they weren't.

"Damn it." I mumbled.

"Addison! Bree!" I called out.

I saw a flash of white and I looked in the distance, seeing my white-haired best friend just as lost as I was.

"Adi!" I called out, running to her.

She turned and her eyes lit up. "Roni!"

I got to her and she hugged me, which I gladly returned.

"Are you okay? Is everybody okay?" I asked.

"Well, Bucky ran like a weasel, but other than that, everybody's fine. I'm okay." she replied.

Her eyes widened. "Is Zed okay?!"

"He's fine. I just lost him somewhere." I responded.

I looked around and I suddenly felt like I was being watched. Not in a good way.

"Come on, we need to go." I told her as I grabbed her hand and dragged her with me.

The both of us walked, trying to somehow find a way out of the forest before we ended up in some sort of clearing.
