Anna's POV:
Outside, the bright sun is just rising. The whole world is bathed in a soft, hopeful light.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" I ask Kelv.
Perched beside Kelv's bed, my eyes meet his as his mouth moves quickly in reply."Five fingers, you're holding up five." Kelv answers confidently, without any hesitation at all.
I breathe a sigh of relief and feel my strong grip on his arm loosen. Thankfully Kelv's amnesia hasn't taken away his ability to count.
Sitting in the middle of Kelv's bedroom, my mind immediately recalls my troubling memories over the past few weeks.
This month has been absolutely hectic. But worst of all, Blade now hates me.
But come to think of it, it's all the new girl's fault.*Anna's flashback:*
I walk into Blade's room to see him kissing a girl. I have never seen her before, and I have no idea who she is. My mouth drops open in horror as I stand there, at the doorway in complete silence.
Blade's eyes widen as he sees me at the doorway. The girl just smiles smugly and lays her head on Blade's shoulder possessively.I clench my fists. Blade is my cousin, and I want the best for him. That includes the best girl for him, remember that Anna. I think to myself.
Part of me is hurt that Blade went upstairs by himself and never bothered to tell me about this new girl.
A feel of protectiveness washes over me. Blade has always looked out for me, and this time I feel the need to look out for him.
I can't bring myself to trust the strange new girl in his arms."Anna?" Blade stammers nervously. "Um... what are you doing here? I thought that you were downstairs with Oscar."
It takes all my strength to keep my tone low. "Why did you not tell me about her? Your...your new girl? Why is it that you had to hide it from me?" I ask accusingly.Guiltiness crosses Blade's face, but it flickers out, like a wavering fire on a candle.
''I...Well this is Saskia, the new girl. She's my new girlfriend." He tells me.
The room is so silent, it's actually scary.
Upon hearing Blade's answer, the new girl, Saskia, smiles at me triamphantly. I'm getting a bad vibe from her, although I have no idea why.
"Blade, who is she? Your maid?" Saskia asks him, shooting looks as sharp as daggers at me.
"Oh Anna's my cousin, and my best friend." Blade answers Saskia, taking his eyes off of mine to smile at her."Blade," I growl, staring him straight in the eye, making him flinch. "You still haven't answered my question."
"Oh...um. You see....Saskia was my ex-girlfriend. And now that she's here, we've decided to get back together." He starts, hesitantly.
I cringe. So Saskia and Blade have broken up before. What made Blade suddenly want to change his mind?"Saskia and I thought that we should keep it a secret, because you know, we figured out that while not tell you guys and my mum once we've made the decision to get back together?" Blade adds, avoiding my eyes.
"Anyway, everyone will find out soon. Because Saskia's staying here, with me."Blade, what's wrong with you? I want to ask him. What has Saskia done to change you?
If doesn't take much brains to figure out that Blade is still hiding something from me. I notice that he is getting sweaty, his face flushed a deep shade of red.
Part of me is uneasy....crushed. Out of all the people I know, Blade is the last person that would keep something away from me.Blade's answer doesn't keep those wandering thoughts away from my mind. Instead it just creates more.
He still owes me a full explanation.I turn away, breaking eye contact from Blade and her popular-looking girlfriend Saskia, feeling slightly disturbed. Saskia seems like the type of girl that would be a second Mackenzie. The thought of Saskia and Blade staying together, kissing each other passionately makes me want to puke.
It never struck me that Blade would like a girl like Saskia. He never seemed to like fake Barbie-doll types.I try to ignore Saskia as she stares at me in disgust, while Blade stares at me apologetically. "Trust me Anna," his eyes seem to be saying. "Everything will be alright."
From that exact moment, from when I turned away and started walking out the door.... I had my doubts.
Was everything going to be ok with Saskia here?Little did I know, this was when the trouble was going to start.
*End of flashback*

Author's note:
Thanks for deciding to read the new sequel, and I hope you enjoyed this short prologue. The prologue is shorter but the normal chapters will be longer. :)
I'll update Chapter 1 as soon as possible, and in the mean time, I'm working on a new story. (I'm going to be writing a lot hehe)
Thanks again and I'll see you soon!
