Song for this chapter: Cinderella by Kidi

The British International School auditorium was brightly lit and packed with students. The atmosphere was vibrant as the annual program to welcome old students back, new students in and high school freshmen were held. Music was booming from the speakers, students were dancing, laughing and enjoying the moment. However, Larley Odoom was recovering from a migraine in the school's infirmary deep asleep.
The days in the week before the weekend had been extremely hectic and stressful. She had to come to school extremely jetlagged after a short visit to Sydney. Her parents had practically forced her into the car an hour after they got to Ghana and dropped her off at the boarding school. Lucky enough, she ended up in a room with two of the friendliest girls she had ever come across that helped her adjust to the boarding house. She was extremely disoriented in class because she had already missed three weeks and had no idea what all her teachers kept babbling about. Larley didn't even want to be in school in the first place, she wanted to spend her days at home admiring models until she hit the runway herself. However her father wasn't having it and made it clear she would only be allowed to live out her dreams if she did well in school and got at least a high school diploma. Struggling in class was the least of her troubles when she got in a fight with an upper class woman because her boyfriend had broken up with her to pursue Larley. After her dad yelling at her to suck it up, Larley had reached her breaking point and woke up feeling like someone had stepped on the left side of her head repeatedly whiles she was in deep slumber.
The music in the auditorium had gone off and the attention of every student was fixed on the twins who had decided to throw punches at each other and the boy who had mistakenly gotten hit passed out on the floor. "What are the both of you standing there for? Take him to the infirmary!" the SRC president yelled. The music got put back on and the vibrant atmosphere was restored as the identical pair took heed to the words of their president. They opened the door to the extremely colorful healthcare facility of the school and told the nurse of why they were bringing in a patient for her. They both smiled cheekily at her as she mocked them on how stupid they had been to fight. "You lay him down on the bed next to that girl for me; I'll attend to him shortly", she said as she prepared an ice pack for the swelling that was starting to develop on the side of the unconscious boy's face.
Larley's eyes flickered open in annoyance as she heard three loud voices. The nurse and the twins were talking about something they seemed to find extremely amusing and were being so loud about it, they woke Larley up. After shooting daggers with her eyes at the nurse she had grown to like after spending a day in her care and the two boys she had seen around school, she sat up on the bed and took more notice of her surroundings. She smiled at the funny writings on the walls as her eyes went around the room until she heard shuffling beside her and her gaze immediately got fixated on the boy the next to her. He was one of the most attractive people she had ever set her eyes on and he looked like her classmate. "How did I miss you?" she thought as she took in the gorgeous male next to her who looked like he had gotten into fight. Larley was too busy admiring him she didn't realize he was staring back at her until she saw a hand being waved in her face.
Teddy felt a sharp pain in his cheek as he opened his eyes. His vision was blurry as he took notice of a figure looking at him. If the real world was a cartoon his eyeballs would turn into hearts as his vision cleared up and he saw an extremely beautiful girl staring at him. He stared back at her to see if that would get her attention but failed so resorted to waving his hand in her face. He watched in awe as he made a face at him and smiled. "I know staring is rude but it looks like your cheek is getting swollen", Larley said smoothly. That was an obvious lie even though his face was starting to look pretty bad. "No need to apologize, I couldn't help but stare at you as well. You are beautiful", Teddy rang out confidently shocking himself given he had a very quiet personality. Larley beamed at his words and shot back at him with a "You too". The two were so lost in each other they didn't realize they had an audience.
"Please I try my best to make sure you kids don't have babies under my watch so don't even think about making some in my infirmary", the nurse said with amusement in her voice getting their attention. The twins laughed at what she said and made inappropriate sounds and signs with their hands as they looked at Teddy. "I can't believe one of you hit me", Teddy said in disbelief looking at the boys he still couldn't differentiate. "It was George", one of them said pointing at the other. "Shut up, Freddie", the other shot back. "No fighting under my watch either", the nurse said as she made her way to Teddy with painkillers and an ice pack. She smiled at him and handed him the ice pack as she got out his pills. "Let me help him with the ice pack", Larley said taking it from the nurse's tray and holding it to Teddy's face.
"Why didn't you hit me harder George?" one of the twins said looking at the beautiful girl taking care of their friend. "I'm Larley by the way", she introduced herself. "Teddy", he returned. "I hope you don't mind. I don't know you but I seem to like you a lot", Larley said with a hearty laugh. "Me too. I love you", he said shocking himself again. Larley looked at him with amusement in her eyes and thought he was funny even though deep down she wanted his words to be true. There was definitely a connection between them, the rare kind that lasted a lifetime. "I think you hit him too hard", one of the twins said earning a nod from the nurse and his brother. "They're starting to grow on me. I'm not completely against the idea of them having babies anymore", the free-spirited nurse said as the three looked at Larley and Teddy who seemed too lost in each other to notice anything but each other.
