the morning sun filling the
empty spot beside him. the storm
has passed and birds sing their tune to the cloudy blue sky.
it smelt sweet, and warm like cinnamon and sugar.

Richie stretches and groans. he looked over and saw Eddie was gone. on the knight stand, was a pile of folded clothes and a packaged toothbrush. only Eddies would be so prepared. he looks at the clock seeing it's only 10am.
when he picks up the clothes their his size, but he doesn't recognize them. it's a black pair of jeans, a long sleeve shirt, flannel and a hoodie. some of the clothes still had tags on them and they weren't cheap.

Walking into the kitchen he sees Eddie at the stove flipping pancakes. the radio plays quietly in the background and the window curtains are pulled back making the room gold and bright. he could wake up like this every day, and seeing Eddie first thing makes it better.

Eddie notices Richie walk in and smiles before getting back to cooking, "morning,"

"good morning" Richie sits at the table and yawns

"i didn't know how those would fit, but it looks good. you should let me dress you more often." Eddie slides a plate of bacon and pancakes to Richie

"Thanks... where'd you get them?" Richie didn't realize how hungry the was until there was food in front of him. and damn it smelt good he didn't expect that from Eddie.

Eddie shrugs, "I told the maid this morning, gave her cash to cover and it was here." he holds a mug of vanilla coffee between his hands and leans against the counter to look at Richie, "your other clothes are in the wash."

Richie then noticed that Eddie looked dressed to go somewhere. he was wearing boots with jeans and layered a bomber jacket over a turtle neck. there were a few bags on the counter too that he just noticed.

"are you going somewhere...?" after yesterday, he'd rather sit here all day and eat Eddies pancakes.

"We, are. i have to see it for myself." Eddie sits next to Richie at the table, "we can't waste time."

Richie took a deep breath, "Eds, i know how hard this situation is, but don't you think you should rest today..? after everything that's happened?" he looked up to meet Eddies questioning eyes, "maybe i need a break too."

Eddie put his hand on top of Richies, "i know, i'm tired too. but i have to go. i will go alone, but i would really like you to be there." Richie still didn't look convinced, "it'll only be an hour, i promise."

When Richie still didn't respond Eddie sighed. He pushed back his chair and got on his knees. he clasped his hands together and pouted his lips, "oh please, please, please! after words i'll pay you extra! or give you time off, or.. anything! name it!"

Richie hummed to drag along Eddies pitiful performance, "hm... anything? even more pancakes?"

"what? yeah, sure i'll make more" Eddie pulled out the puppy eyes and Richie was done for.
