Chapter 11.

Richie let's out a breath                 words•4,879
and Frank jogs over to him.
he's wearing a bullet prof vest over
his suit and he can now see other
men checking the halls with guns.
"Richie, where's Eddie." he says in a panicked tone.

Eddie bangs on the closet door again, "Richie?! what happened?!"

Frank runs over to the door and practically throws the dresser out of his way. when he opened the door he's met by a bone crushing hug.

Eddie holds onto his dad tightly, tears streaming down his face, "what- how-?"

"heard the gunfire, called my men and just prayed to whatever's out there that you were okay." Frank puts his hand on Richies shoulder, "and you are." he gives him a silent 'thank you'.

a man steps in, "Boss, it's all clear"

Eddie suddenly remembers his friends, "Bill? Stan? Bev, Mike, Ben..?" he looks up at his dad

"i don't know." Frank pulls out his wallet and hands Richie a wad of cash, "for your service." he looks back down at Eddie, "you told me you would stay at Richies. instead you put yourself in danger and it might be the cause of all this. your not off the hook yet, so go home. there are men outside your door 24/7 no buts about it. we'll talk about this tomorrow morning."

Eddie nods and follows orders. he leaves the room with Richie beside him. when they walk out in the hall there are men in suits stacking bodies and guarding the staircase. Eddie feels sick at the sight and holds on to Richies arm.

when they get down stairs they look to the corner their friends were standing earlier. nothing but blood splatter. they stepped around bodies covered by sheets and avoided Franks men as they came in and out of the house. when they got outside there was a single police car with its lights on and a black suv parked in front of the house. men in black suits lined a trail to the car as a man stood holding the door open.

Eddie gets into the car first and Richie sits next to him. Sonia starts weeping and pulls Eddie into her body in a suffocating hug, "oh Eddie bear! I was so worried! i told your father that you shouldn't leave the house but he never listens—"

as she rambled on Eddie looks at Richie. he looks back with a small smile on his lips, it seemed they both didn't know what was going to happen. Richie leans his head against the car window, still feeling the rush of adrenaline from earlier. his body was tired but his mind couldn't shut off.

they pull into the Kaspbraks driveway and there are two men in black waiting for them. they lead Richie and Eddie back to the pool house where three more men stand outside the doors keeping guard.

"has your dad done this before..?" Richie asks referring to the security measures

Eddie opens the door for Richie, "only when there's something really wrong."

when they get inside it's silent. almost too quiet too handle after what just happened, their not even sure if they know what happened. they stand five feet apart from each other in the living room, waiting for someone to say something.
