I stopped mid-way, I have never, ever seen Sam like this. She was always my saving grace, she saved me from sinking to the bottom.
I took a deep breathe in and continued to walk up to her. When she noticed me, she immediately stood up and wiped her tears away.
"Hey..." she said as if nothing ever happened but when she noticed the look on my face she said, "How long have you been watching me?"
I didn't say anything... What should I have said? I knew she was leaving and I didn't know when would she come back or would she even?
"Please, Sam. Please, just please let me help you." I said as I looked at her like she was my world.
Now... that I look back on what happened, I wish I could have done more. And all she said after that was "Cole, I'm going to need a favor." Is all she said before tears started falling endlessly and I had to hold on to her so she wont fall on the ground. I held her like she was my world, though now that I think about it, she was my world then and until now.
I sighed as I laid back in my chair. I looked at my wrist waiting for time to move faster. You see... I came to the airport for a reason. And I'm not so sure if that reason is even the truth or a lie.
I looked at the time of arrival from New York...
'She should've arrived now, what's taking so long?' I asked myself but as if reading my mind, their was an announcement made.
"The flight arriving from New York City is delayed by 30 minutes due to weather conditions. I'm sorry for the inconvenience." The announcer said in a robotic voice.
I heaved a sigh as I tried to calm the sick feeling in the bottom of my stomach.
I wonder if she would recognize me?
Would she even talk to me if she did recognize me?
Would she still be the same?
Will she ever get to hear what I should've said before she left?
~FLASHBACK
"Please, Cole. Can you do me this favour? Please? C'mon... I really really want to do it! And I want you to be the one to teach me. C'mon... I'm leaving in less than 3 days and you wont even do me my first favour...." She pouted and crossed her arms on her chest at me like a five year old.
I groaned and look at her passively. Then she uncrossed her arms and she pleaded- no more like she was begging me. I finally gave in.
"Fine... But if you get hurt, don't blame me. Deal?" I said as I held out my hand.
She looked and it and she pursed her lips. "Fine, as long as you teach me to skate." She said as she shook my hand. "Now... where do I start?" She asked with a smile.
I sighed and took her hand before she got hurt.
~END OF FLASHBACK
A chuckle escaped my lips as I remembered the last few moments I had with Sam.
I still can't believe that the first favour she asked was if I would teach her to skate. That day ended up with me and her laying on the grass at 5 p.m.. Then just as I was about to call it a day she pulled me back on my feet and we gave it another try. This time she really got the hang of it. I remember a lot of days with her but the day that I remember the most was the day she had to leave. The day she asked me for a favour, the favour was that I promise to never forget her. And I definitely remember hugging her so close and whispered, "I promise. And I could never forget you, no matter what."
