Chapter three

*Bryce POV*

As my brother slept in puddle, I got up. Since eating the meat, I gained skills and perks of that monster. I wanted to test out red lightning. As I started crawling my way up the hole, I checked first of my surroundings. Everything was clear until I saw some movement on the ceiling. I focused on the movement till I made out what I presumed to be a bat. 'Hmm, I can use that as target practice, and if we eat it's meat, then I'm sure my brother can use echolocation to replace his vision! Great idea.' I thought to myself. I stood as straight up as possible with my broken leg that looked pretty bad off, and steady my breathing. Slowly I lifted my hand up towards the bat, then thought of the red lightning. Boom, just like that, the bat was hit by the lightning killing it. It's body fell hitting the ground with a small thud.

Quickly, I snatched the body and ran back to my brother. Unfortunately, he was still sound asleep from the monster meat. 'While he is asleep, might as well do something.' I thought to myself. I then got up and used transmute on the rocks, getting some metal. 'How about a grill to help him eat the meat.' I thought. So I made a stand and grill, where you would only need a vampire under it, but sadly we didn't have that luxury. So instead, I use the lightning on the metal to heat it up to extreme temperatures before putting some monster meat and the bat on there. After awhile, the meat started smelling good, then I heard movement. I looked over and saw my brother getting himself up.

Before he could do anything, I limped myself over to him. Vince looked at around or at nothing, give or take, before I grabbed him. He jumped at my sudden touch, before I whispered to him. "There, there. It's alright, I'm here for ya. We got some meat cooking, it won't hurt this time, I swear." I told him. Vince only nodded before following my lead as I sat him next to me. "Now say 'ahhh'" I said. He opened his mouth before I gently put some bat meat in his mouth. He seemed taken back before speaking. "Wow, tha-" he stopped talking. "What's the matter?'' I told him with some bat in my mouth. He looked straight into my eyes with his badly damaged ones.

"I can see you, the outlines of everything when I speak or anything that makes a noise." He said. I hugged him with delight as some tears fell down. "Good, since we ate monster meat, we gain the ability of anything we eat, we gets it's perks and skills meaning you have echolocation to replace your eyesight for now!" I kinda yelled in excitement. He smiled before hugging me tightly while crying a bit. "Thank you, for being there for me bro." He whispered to me. I only hugged him before laying down with both of us in each other's arms.

"I was thinking, since we just got here, we need to take our time. We also got a lot of meat, so we can stay a while. Tomorrow, after we rest, we can build some weapons with my transmute. How does that sound. All you have to do tonight is think what awesome weapon you want. Just relax right now, we deserve it." I said. Vince only nodded while smiling. We both hugged one another tighter for more warmth as my sight blurred and darkness crept in consuming everything.

I slowly regained consciousness as I stirred awake. I could tell that Vince was only just waking up too from his movement. I slowly brought myself up as so did Vince. "*Yawn* So any kind of badass weapon my tough brother came up with?" I questioned him."I think I would like a revolver for now, hits hard and powerful to get us somewhere." he said. "Okay then, I guess we will be building guns then. Also, we'll get you glasses with a built in clock to keep ticking so you have something to keep making noises other than your mouth." I said. So we spent that 'day' on getting materials, drafting blueprints, and teaching Vince how to work without his eyesight. It slowly all started coming together as our end game products where made.
