We soon learned that our proctors name was Morino Ibiki and this was only the first part of the exam. He defiantly told the sound ninja off because they instantly went back to their spots. Their excuse was that they got carried away.
"Is that so? Well it's about time someone laid down some rules..From this point forward, there will be absolutely no more fighting without the express permission of the examining officer...and even if that permission is granted, anything that endangers another applicants lives are strictly forbidden..Any of you little runts break that rule are out. Disqualified. No second chances..got it?" Ibiki said. The room was silent and then one of the sound ninja spoke up.
"So basically this is a test for girly men?" That got a few sneers from the ninja who were behind Ibiki. He calmly replied,
"As you wish, The first section of the test is about to begin, turn in your written applications and then choose one of these seating assignment cards and report directly to the seat indicated on the card. When everyone's seated we will pass out the written part of the test." Naruto's mouth dropped and I felt incredibly sorry for him. I admit I wasn't the best at written exams but Naruto never had passed one before!
After a few minutes everyone was seated. Luckily I was seated towards the back of the room. Next to me was Gaara and some other boy who I didn't know. Naruto was more towards the front and was holding his head. Hinata was next to him so at least that was a plus. The others were scattered throughout the room. Ibiki cleared his throat and we all turned our faces to him. "Now listen up, papers face down until I give the signal...there are a few big rules that pertain to the first test; I'll write them on the blackboard and explain them but I'm not taking any questions, so listen carefully. I will say this only once," he paused and then began again, "Rule number one! Each one of you starts out here with ten points. The test has ten questions each worth one point. For each question you get wrong, we subtract a point. Get all ten right and you retain the ten points you have. But if for example, you answer three questions incorrectly we take your ten points...subtract one point every wrong answer..and your total drops down to seven."
'so basically if I get them all wrong then I will have zero points...no I must not get any questions wrong!' I thought to myself. Ibiki continued,
"Rule number 2, this written test is still a team event. Passing or failing will be determined by the sum of the points held by all members of your team. The object is for each team to have as little deductions as possible from it's join thirty-point total." A loud bang was heard and it was Sakura slamming her head on her desk. She quickly shot up and raised her hand, belting out her question.
"The whole concept of the starting points and the deduction is hard enough to follow..but what is this "Team Total" you're talking about." With and annoyed glare Ibiki "gladly" answered her question.
"Did you not hear the part about 'no questions?' We have our reasons now shut up and listen, you might learn something." I put a hand to my mouth to keep in a small laugh. Ibiki just roasted Sakura in front of everyone and I really shouldn't be laughing. Gaara turned his eyes to me and narrowed them before whispering. 'your laughing at your own teammates..pitiful' My gaze darted to him and I gave him a quick glare before returning my gaze to the front of the room. "Rule number 3..If during the course of the exam a candidate does anything out of the ordinary ..in other words anything that leads the proctors to suspect you're cheating..we subtract two points from each member of the cheaters team." My posture straightened and I clenched my teeth. "Exactly! In all probability, some of you will run through your entire allowance of points during the test, if so you will be failed and asked to leave."
One of the ninja who had been smiling at me and Sakura earlier chimed in, "I'll be looking over your shoulders when you least expect it.." A shiver went down my spine and I scanned the room for Sasuke. I soon found him; his facial expressions were the same as always. He looked like he didn't care about anything being said and that he already had a plan.
