一

(flashback)

There were many people at the airport. (Mostly) men and women were pulling their suitcases with them, presumably preparing to go on a business trip, and cabin crew members were also rushing for their respective flights. Strangely enough, families were there too despite it being in the middle of the semester.

Hyunjin looked around. Heejin couldn't be out here, she's probably in the departure hall already. She was not allowed into the departure hall since she neither has her passport nor her flight ticket thus she went to the second floor where it is directly above the departure hall. From there, she can see everyone in the departure hall clearly. 

But still no Heejin.

She ran to the viewing area, which is a place where she could see planes landing or taking off. Hyunjin looked to see if she could see Heejin's plane.

Just then, she spotted a plane taking off. By the side of the plane, she could see the words 'British Airlines'. 

Her heart sank. Heejin really is gone forever. 

"Hyunjin!" A voice called out to her. Hyunjin's heart nearly dropped. Could it be her? The voice spoke again, "What are you doing here?" 

Hyunjin turned around to see a girl wearing a blue oversized button-down shirt with slacks looking at her. Without thinking, she rushed into her arms. 

"Heejin... Why are you going away?" Hyunjin rested her head on Heejin's chest, the repetitive beating of Heejin's heart made Hyunjin feel at ease.

"Aw, I'll be going to England for a few years then I'll be back in no time." Heejin smiled.

"Why didn't you tell me? You made me so worried, you idiot!" Hyunjin broke the hug and smacked Heejin's shoulder.

"Hey hey!" She tried blocking the hits from Hyunjin. I didn't want to worry you!" 

Hyunjin softened after hearing what Heejin's train of thought. Heejin checked the time on her phone. "Well, it's about time I leave soon." She bit her lip and tucked her phone into her back pocket. Heejin grabbed the handle of her luggage and slowly walked away.

Then, she felt someone tug on her shirt. She turned around and Hyunjin pressed her lips against Heejin's. She smiled into the kiss and interlocked hands with Hyunjin.

"You like me, don't you?" Heejin laughed when Hyunjin pulled away. 

"Yes, Jeon Heejin. I like you." Hyunjin leaned in for another kiss.

Heejin held Hyunjin's face with one hand and kissed her back.

"BA1946's gates are opened. All passengers please board the plane promptly." The announcement over the speakers was heard.

Heejin broke the kiss and smiled awkwardly. "it's really time for me to go."

Hyunjin had a look of disappointment on her face. She held out her pinky finger as if she was asking for a promise. "Promise you will come back soon? And that I'll be the first person you'll see?"

Heejin smiled and interlocked her pinky with Hyunjin's.

"I promise."

[present day]

"Babe, what do you wanna eat?" Hyejoo looked at the smaller girl who was clinging onto her arm.

"I don't know," Chaewon puffed her cheeks. "The cafeteria always serves the same things, it's boring." 

"You wanna sneak out to the convenience store to get food then?"

"Yay! I love you, Son Hyejoo~"

"I love you too, Park Chaewon." She laughed.

Hyunjin pushed past the couple. "I get that everyone is single here, but can y'all refrain from PDA-ing?"

"Someone's salty~" Yerim did the jazz hands and everyone laughed.

3 years have passed and everyone graduated happily from Yeondu High. Unfortunately for both cliques, some members went to another university that is either near their home or is in their aggregate range. For example, Jinsoul, Jungeun, Kahei, and Haseul went to Kyunghee University while the rest of them (Hyunjin, Yeojin, Yerim, Jiwoo, Sooyoung, Chaewon, and Hyejoo) went on to study at the affiliated Yeondu University. 

Yeondu University was just like what Hyunjin had thought it would be like: vibrant campus environment, friendly classmates and seniors, helpful professors/lecturers, and so on. However, Yeondu University was missing a crucial part of it that would complete Hyunjin's university life: Jeon Heejin.

She looked at Chaewon and Hyejoo. They both look so happy. She wondered how life would be different if Heejin stayed. Was it just infatuation though? Or was it because she just felt grateful at the fact that Heejin cared for her?

She felt someone bump into her. "Oops!" She heard the other person say.

Hyunjin looked up and saw the faces that she detests the most. Lee Jieun and Bae Suzy. Suzy placed a hand on her mouth, in an 'oops! Sorry not sorry' kind of way. "Sorry Hyunjin, didn't see you there." She laughed.

Compared to being in high school, Jieun has a bigger circle of friends now and is slightly more bitchy than in high school. Hyunjin hated the fact that Jieun is in the same school as her, which means she will have to see her almost every day. Thankfully, they are not in the same course. 

"Sure you did." Jiwoo huffed.

"I wasn't talking to you." Suzy sneered. 

Sooyoung saw this and was pretty pissed. "Listen here, one more time you annoy Jiwoo or any of us, I'll be busting a hole in your pretty little face. Got it?"

"Whatever, you crazy lesbian." Suzy strutted off with Jieun and their friends.

Sooyoung turned red. Did Suzy just reveal that she is gay in front of her crush? She turned to her friends, "Sidenote guys, I'm not lesbian." She laughed. "Suzy's just talking nonsense."

"Sure you are." Yeojin coughed loudly, earning herself a jab in the ribs from Sooyoung.

Sooyoung has always been shy around Jiwoo and hardly had chances to talk to her. However, ever since Hyejoo and Chaewon started dating, both cliques started to hang out more together which meant that Sooyoung gets to see Jiwoo more often as well. But she isn't that close to Jiwoo well, because she's shy, but she's pretty close to Hyunjin and Yerim now. Being good friends with your crush's friends is a bonus, you'd get to know more about them.

"Thanks for standing up for us, Sooyoungie." Jiwoo grinned and linked arms with her. 

Sooyoung turned red. "Eh? It was nothing."
