"Sometimes I feel like you're so far away from me even when you're sitting right in front of me," she mumbles. He turns to her with a cold, lonely look. He chooses not to respond, because he knows that there's a truth behind her words. He had been distant, and it was destroying them both. She sighed heavily as she heaved the rest of her belongings into a bag.
He looked on, frantically thinking up solution after solution, finding that all of them came to a dead end. She gave him one last glance, hoping that something would change, or that he would say something. He finally ran over and embraced her tightly, feeling her tears soak his shirt. She wrapped her arms around him, slowly feeling the distance fade. They were too afraid to let go again.
She looked up as tears flowed from his eyes, now so full of love. They knew they still held love for each other, but had fear of saying it before this moment. She smiled amidst her tears, and spoke the three words that seemed to make the final bit of distance dissolve. "I love you," she muttered softly and sincerely. He returned the smile with one full of love, and muttered, "I love you too." They laid together on the bed they once shared, and once again felt the love they had before.
