"Alright, let's start the briefing for our investigation," Duri declared as we sat in the house I had once occupied across the Cha household a year ago (Dai was nice enough to buy it for us). He was standing up, his glasses reflecting the projector's light above the stack of papers he held in his hands.
"Sounds like a plan," I nodded, leaning on the chair I was sitting on.
"You should be a lecturer at this rate, Duri-kun," my dearest brother who I love to bits, even though I just met him a year ago, joked, bringing a laugh to both our lips. While I knew that this was supposed to be serious and all that, it sure felt nice to be able to joke around. I felt more energised with that.
"That's funny," Duri admitted, a smile on his face. "Nice one, Daisuke-kun."
"That's what makes me the great person I am," he grinned back, causing another round of laughter. It was hearty, and eased my heart muscles from the tension they had been feeling before.
I want to let this continue to happen all over the city. I had read the plans Kim Taewoo had in mind, and if she won this year's election, Daedo City was never going to be the same. It was going to take a turn for the worse.
That's what made me want to fight her of course. If she was going to attack us like this, then so be it. We are going to stop her charade and end it with our victory.
"Alright, alright, we should get to the briefing, guys," Duri chuckled quietly. The smile on his face was so bright, it made me go red a bit. It was so cute!
"Sure," Daisuke leaned on his own chair, trying to relax his own muscles.
And so, we got serious. We discussed everything we knew, from her surfacing to the attacks, to her fake death (made possible by Y's stealth mode, which I knew was a sore spot for Duri after his eyes dimmed.), then to the Athlon mess, her getting Mopak, Lullaby, and Kaiser Yung to become her promoters, and finally how she hid this with her own campaign and the company she owned.
"So we all know that she's trying to destroy the good name her newest competitors have by having Y attack her. It's so obvious if people knew what they were looking for, but sadly, they don't," Daisuke sighed, looking a bit annoyed.
"Personally I don't get it either," I admitted. "How have they not noticed the patterns?"
"Well, you're not wrong about that," Duri rubbed his temple, exhaustion showing slightly in his eyes. "People can be so innocent at times. We know that more than anyone. However...." a small smile appeared on his face. "The Pilots will soon get the hint they need to launch an investigation."
