The Wolves Hunt [on hiatus / rewriting]

Chapter 1

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP

Stretching and yawning. Dawn shut off her alarm and climbed out of bed.

After opening her blinds she went to her wardrobe and grabbed out a simple sky blue dress that ended just above her knees and a pair of ocean blue ballet flats.

Then, brushing her hair, she pulled half of it up into a side ponytail; leaving the rest down to flow just past her shoulder blades.

Walking into the kitchen, she placed two pieces of toast into the toaster and poured herself a glass of milk. Once the toast was done, she grabbed the slices out and put them on a plate on the table. Then walking to the pantry, she opened the door to grab the spread for her toast. Turning her head to look at the calendar hanging on the door she noted the date that was marked a couple of days away; August 15th.

Dawn held the feathers handing on a chain around her neck.

"4 years ago I was named" Sighing, Dawn started to remember things before she found out her parents were still around. "I showed so much joy while doing my jobs, but now... Now that I know that... I was hurt because of them."

Wondering off for a couple of seconds, Dawn soon shook her head and continued to make her breakfast then sat down to eat.

"Hey Dawn!"

"Morning Dawn!"

Two cheery girls came walking towards Dawn as she walked through the school gates.

"Hey Jade! Hey Hannah!" came the friendly reply from Dawn as she greeted her two best friends.

Jade is a girl with elbow length black hair with blue streaks. She wears a pair of red ripped jeans, black boots and a light blue tank top with a crimson red heart on the top right hand corner. Plus she also has a single, small hoop earring on the top of her left ear.

Hannah is a sweet girl that always cares for the people around her. She has shoulder length, light blond hair that she usually wears in a low side ponytail. Her usual attire is a pair of shorts with a simple skirt over the top, a t-shirt that would have some sort of flower on the front and a 3/4 sleeve cardigan.

"So, how's life?" Jade asked. It was a thing she did almost every Monday at school.

"Life's good. Just the usual. Nothing major." Dawn replied calmly "How about you and Hannah?"

"Eh. Same old. Same old" was all that Jade replied.

"I'm good thanks... Daniel's just fine as well!" came Hannah's cheery but calm reply.

"Oh that reminds me. Have you seen Daniel anywhere? I need to ask about our English project that's due today."

"I last saw him at his locker. He's probably still there, talking to his friends"

"Thanks Han. I'll see you two in class. I've gotta go put my bag away" Dawn said to the two girls before walking off to the locker-bay where she could hopefully find Daniel and also put her bag in her locker and get ready for her first class; Science.

Lunchtime came soon enough and Dawn, Hannah and Jade were all sitting down in the courtyard eating their lunch and talking.

"So, are you doing anything this Saturday Dawn?" Hannah asked

"No. Why??"

"Good. We're taking you out for your birthday. Just us girls." was the reply from Jade "And you're coming. No excuses or else we'll just have to drag you out of the house ourselves. It's your 17th birthday!"

"I wasn't going to say no anyway Jade" Dawn told her giggling slightly "It sounds great, I can't wait!"

"That's good!"

'She's such a confident, demanding girl Jade' Dawn thought with a small smile on her face.

The last class was over for the day and everyone was talking to their friends as they got ready to leave.

"Did you hear? There's apparently going to be a new kid coming to the school tomorrow." was the first thing out of Hannah's mouth when she met up with Dawn and Jade at their lockers.

"Yeah. And I heard it’s a guy" Hannah's twin brother Daniel said before any of the girls could reply to Hannah.

Daniel has dirty blonde hair that is slightly spiked up to the left and he is always just wearing a pair of jeans, a random coloured t-shirt and a pair of runners.

"Oh, by the way. Great work on your half of the English project Dawn"

"Thanks Dan. You know anything else about the new kid?"

"Nope. Although there are rumours going around the girls that this new kids pretty good looking"

"Yeah we'll it's just a rumour. He's just some guy, what's the big deal?" Jade said and asked everyone

"There's no big deal Jade. It is just a rumour" came Hannah's reply

"Besides, you know like, literally every girl in the entire school is obsessed with some good looking guy" Dawn also mentioned.

"Yeah well, I was just saying"

"Hannah, you ready to go? Dads here already" Daniel said to Hannah as he put his phone in his pocket.

"Yep, ready. See you tomorrow guys!" Hannah said as she waved and walked with her brother toward the front of the school.

"Well I better get going too. I've still gotta run a few errands first, and if I'm not done by 5 mums gonna crack it at me..." Jade said as Dawn nodded and replied with a simple yeah and they both walked out the school gates and towards their destinations.
