"Up and at 'em, sleeping beauty." Tony announced, throwing the curtains wide open and bathing the room in bright sunlight. Quinn groaned and rubbed her eyes.
"Tony! Come on, ten more minutes?" She said, rolling to one side and falling off the bed.
"Nope," He replied cheerfully. "Carpe diem, young Quinn. We have big things planned for the day, and you're invited. So put on some pants and get going." Quinn rolled her eyes dramatically and untangled herself from the sheets, morphing her pyjama shorts into loose black denim ones and her top into a graphic tee. "Now hurry up, everyone's downstairs." He said, exiting the room. Quinn tied her hair up (brown, today) and put on some converses, then followed.

For breakfast, Quinn never ate much; she didn't like eating early in the morning and she preferred to have a plain piece of fruit to eggs or pancakes. The others ate heaps- stacks of bacon and omelettes, toast, and cereal.
"Could someone please tell me exactly what we're doing today? 'Cause Imma head out if I don't find out." Sam said loudly.
"The annual Avengers olympics." Tony announced. Quinn frowned and looked around to see if anyone knew what that was meant to be.
"Annual? We've never done it before. At least, I wasn't invited." Said a new guy who Quinn didn't recognise. He must've arrived early in the morning.
"That's Scott. He's hanging around here for a bit while his wife is on holiday with their daughter. Kinda weird, but he's fun." Rhodey explained quietly to Quinn.
"They're going to be annual. From now on. Now, everyone come outside so that you can choose your events." Tony said.

Everyone stood in the bright sun, squinting. A few newbies chatted with the team, but Quinn didn't know them so she felt awkward and kept her distance.
"Okay, listen up!" Steve shouted. Everyone stopped chatting and looked up.
"Thanks Cap." Tony nodded. "Right, so basically nobody planned this out enough for it to be that good, but it's kind of just a reason for people to show off their skills or whatever, then the winners get really drunk afterwards. Except if Quinn wins, because she's a kid." He pointed over at Quinn, who rolled her eyes and put up the finger. "Very nice. Basically, there are a few different events, and then tomorrow we do team sports. We're gonna have fun. Says Steve, at least." The group murmured their disagreement, falling silent when Steve gave them all a look.
"Can't we just go swim in the lake or something? Who came up with this?" Quinn called. A few people shouted their agreement at Tony, and she was clapped on the back by Sam and Bucky.
"Because, young Quinn, we need to learn to work as a team and guess what? You're not helping." Tony glared at Quinn. "Now shut up or I'll make you run the cross-country event."
This was enough motivation for Quinn to be quiet.
They all began clamouring for the events most suited to their abilities, and signed up for the sparring matches that everyone had to do the next day. Quinn signed up for nothing, but she told Steve that she was doing the hundred metre sprint- she wasn't in the mood to go running anyway.
The first event began, and drinks were had, and pretty soon everyone except the super-soldiers and gods was at least slightly drunk.

Quinn went inside to use the bathroom so she missed the next race, and by the time she got back she couldn't be bothered to watch Steve win over Sam so she walked a short way into the woods.
"Isn't it against your rules to wander away from the adults?" Loki said in a mocking tone. Quinn scowled and turned to face him.
"None of your business." She said. He smirked, infuriating her even more.
"How rude. You wouldn't want me to tell Steve about this disrespect, would you? I'd hate for you to get in trouble." He said.
"You're so- l - leave me alone!" Quinn stuttered, turning bright red.
"Nothing would make me happier, if you weren't so entertaining to taunt." He teased.
"You're such a dick."
"Ouch, what a devastating insult. Very grown up. I'll add name-calling to your list of offences." Loki leaned against a tree.
"Quinn? Where are you? Hey, I won!" Steve's voice rang out through the trees. "You know, you're not supposed to run off alone, kiddo, but I won't be mad if you come here and check out this wad of cash that Tony just gave me." He said.
"Coming!" Quinn called lightly, glaring fiercely at Loki. "And I'm not alone."
"Oh. Loki." Steve said coldly. Quinn had noticed that the team seemed uneasy around Loki, and although she was curious she didn't want to piss anyone off. "Quinn, come on. Cross country is starting." He said tensely.
"Cross country is boring. It's just ten minutes of people running." Quinn retorted, not breaking eye contact with Loki.
"Now, Quinn." Steve said firmly, leaving no room for argument. Quinn begrudgingly stomped past Loki, sticking out her tongue at him for a second. He raised his eyebrows, but otherwise looked annoyingly unaffected.
